【摘要】：20世紀(jì)初期,職業(yè)教育與普通中等教育的關(guān)系問題,成為美國(guó)教育變革中極具爭(zhēng)議性的焦點(diǎn)議題之一。支持獨(dú)立職業(yè)教育體系的大衛(wèi)·斯內(nèi)登與支持綜合教育計(jì)劃的杜威,針對(duì)該問題進(jìn)行了兩輪筆墨較量。斯內(nèi)登站在"為了效率而職業(yè)、為了職業(yè)而教育"的立場(chǎng)上,將教育作為提升社會(huì)效率的途徑,建議職業(yè)教育自成體系,與公立中學(xué)并存不悖;杜威則站在"通過職業(yè)而進(jìn)行教育"的立場(chǎng),建議將職業(yè)教育作為普通教育的補(bǔ)充,納入公立中學(xué)體系之內(nèi)。二人的論爭(zhēng)在某種程度上是對(duì)教育與社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí)關(guān)系的不同理解造成的,教育思想的差異決定了教育立場(chǎng)及實(shí)踐方式的不同。二人的論爭(zhēng)對(duì)20世紀(jì)美國(guó)公共學(xué)校變革,尤其是公共學(xué)校職能的轉(zhuǎn)變產(chǎn)生了深遠(yuǎn)影響。對(duì)我國(guó)普通中等教育改革具有一定的啟迪意義。
[Abstract]:At the beginning of the 20th century, the relationship between vocational education and general secondary education became one of the most controversial issues in American educational reform. David Snedden, who supports an independent vocational education system, and Dewey, who supports a comprehensive education program, have fought for two rounds. Snedden stands on the standpoint of "education for efficiency, education for occupation", regards education as the way to improve social efficiency, and suggests that vocational education should form its own system and coexist with public middle schools. Dewey, on the other hand, suggested that vocational education should be added to the public secondary school system. To a certain extent, the controversy between the two people is caused by the different understanding of the relationship between education and social reality, and the difference of educational thought determines the difference of educational stand and practice. The controversy between the two had a profound impact on the change of American public schools in the 20 ~ (th) century, especially on the transformation of public school functions. It has certain enlightening significance to the reform of general secondary education in our country.
