本翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告基于由中國國家社會(huì)科學(xué)基金支持的《中國三十大發(fā)明》翻譯項(xiàng)目。本次項(xiàng)目團(tuán)隊(duì)由20名成員組成,負(fù)責(zé)該書后二十個(gè)章節(jié)的英文翻譯,本報(bào)告的作者負(fù)責(zé)書中《火藥》和《青蒿素》這兩章節(jié)的翻譯。《火藥》和《青蒿素》屬于科技史類文本,該兩章包含了大量有關(guān)中國文化、中醫(yī)和科學(xué)原理的內(nèi)容,譯為目標(biāo)語后在一定程度上會(huì)妨礙讀者的理解,降低譯文的接受程度。為了解決該問題,譯者在翻譯中采用了深度翻譯的策略,旨在縮小兩種文化之間的差異,同時(shí)使讀者更接近文本,了解中國文化,促進(jìn)文化間的交流與傳播。具體來說,注釋是實(shí)現(xiàn)深度翻譯的主要方法。在添加注釋的過程中,需注重文本意圖和尊重源語文化。本報(bào)告將注釋從形式上分為兩種主要類型,即顯性注釋和隱性注釋,再根據(jù)其內(nèi)容和加注方式進(jìn)一步細(xì)分三到四種小類,并進(jìn)行案例分析,希望該報(bào)告能對(duì)未來的科學(xué)歷史文本的英譯有所啟發(fā)。
