The psychological health level of the male nursing students was lower than that of the undergraduate, but the difference was not significant compared with the undergraduate students. The male nursing students in different grades were in different grades. There was no significant difference in mental health status. (2) the psychological health symptoms of male nursing students were significantly related to social prejudice, professional knowledge, professional achievement and group belonging to varying degrees. (3) the negative coping, social support utilization, neuroticism and latitudes of the personality characteristics of the male nursing students were all related to the professional achievement and the sense of group belonging. Psychological problems showed six aspects of compulsive symptoms, interpersonal sensitivity, spirit, paranoia, hostility and depression. (3) the male nursing students' positive coping scores were higher than those of male medical students, and the social support utilization was lower than the male medical students and neuroticism. The dimension score was higher than that of the male medical students.
Conclusions and suggestions
The psychological health level of male students in higher nursing specialty is low, the rate of psychological problems is high and the mental health is not optimistic. The psychological health is influenced by the social environment, school and itself, among which social prejudice, professional knowledge and group belonging are the most important factors affecting their mental health. Schools should pay more attention to the special group of male nursing students, and take measures to carry out targeted health education to promote their psychosomatic health development.
