傳記是一種文學(xué)形式,大體分為歷史性傳記和傳記文學(xué)。20世紀(jì)以來,澳大利亞文學(xué)取得了很多成就。近年來,澳大利亞文學(xué)作品的中文譯本越來越多。但是目前,國內(nèi)研究英美文學(xué)的的學(xué)者仍然多于研究澳大利亞文學(xué)的學(xué)者。而且,英美文學(xué)的研究系統(tǒng)不如澳大利亞文學(xué)體系完善。國內(nèi)學(xué)者對于伊麗莎白·喬利作品的研究不多。本次翻譯實踐材料主要介紹了伊麗莎白·喬利的創(chuàng)作經(jīng)歷以及喬利出版的相關(guān)作品。目前,越來越多的學(xué)者研究傳記。通過傳記的研究可以了解作者生活的歷史以及作者作品中傳達(dá)的主題。該篇翻譯實踐材料主要選取了澳大利亞作家布萊恩·迪波爾為澳大利亞小說家伊麗莎白·喬利撰寫的傳記《有所作為的生命:伊麗莎白·喬利傳記》的第九章。該書由西澳大利亞大學(xué)于1998年8月出版。本次翻譯實踐文本主要分為四個部分:任務(wù)描述、任務(wù)描述翻譯過程介紹、案例分析以及結(jié)論。本次翻譯實踐材料中的副詞尤其是以ly結(jié)尾的副詞以及狀語從句的翻譯具有代表性。譯者在英國著名翻譯家彼得·紐馬克提出的關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論的指導(dǎo)下,研究傳記語言中以ly結(jié)尾的副詞以及狀語從句的英譯漢的翻譯策略。通過該翻譯實踐報告可以讓更多的學(xué)者了解澳大利亞文化、澳大利亞作家伊麗莎白·喬...
