【摘要】：《楚辭》是中國(guó)詩(shī)歌乃至中國(guó)文化的源頭之一,也是世界文化的瑰寶。它突破了《詩(shī)經(jīng)》的表現(xiàn)形式,極大地豐富了詩(shī)歌的表現(xiàn)力,對(duì)漢賦的形成和后代的詩(shī)歌創(chuàng)作產(chǎn)生了深遠(yuǎn)影響。但是,與《詩(shī)經(jīng)》相比,《楚辭》的英譯對(duì)比研究及在歐美世界的傳播卻相對(duì)滯后。 意象作為中國(guó)典籍作品中的一項(xiàng)重要的文化元素,廣泛存在于古詩(shī)詞中,而在《楚辭》中,更是包含了錯(cuò)綜復(fù)雜、意義獨(dú)特的意象。因此,在《楚辭》的翻譯過(guò)程中,對(duì)文化意象的處理和翻譯就顯得尤為重要了。歸化與異化兩種翻譯策略之爭(zhēng)一直貫穿中外翻譯歷史。本研究選取許淵沖、楊憲益和戴乃迭、以及霍克斯的《楚辭》英譯本,嘗試從歸化與異化的翻譯策略來(lái)探討三個(gè)譯本中文化意象的翻譯。研究結(jié)果表明,三個(gè)譯本中多采取歸化的翻譯策略。然而,在對(duì)《楚辭》中的文化意象進(jìn)行翻譯時(shí),單純地采取歸化或者異化的策略都是不可取的,只有在兩者結(jié)合的基礎(chǔ)上,才能更貼切、更恰當(dāng)?shù)貍鬟_(dá)原文的意義和語(yǔ)境。 本文首先對(duì)國(guó)內(nèi)外楚辭英譯的研究進(jìn)行了綜述,針對(duì)文化意象翻譯的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行回顧。然后再對(duì)《楚辭》中的文化意象進(jìn)行了分類,從神話、自然和社會(huì)三個(gè)方面,以歸化與異化為理論基礎(chǔ),對(duì)其中文化意象的翻譯進(jìn)行對(duì)比研究,從而揭示三個(gè)譯本中翻譯策略的共性與差異。在此基礎(chǔ)上,對(duì)于文化意象的翻譯,作者提出了幾個(gè)翻譯方法,旨在為今后《楚辭》以及文化意象的英譯提供一些參考。
