本次翻譯實踐材料選自美國學者羅伯·尼克森的著作《慢性暴力與窮人的環(huán)境主義》(Slow Violence and the Environmentalism of the Poor)。該作品是環(huán)境批評領域重要的學術著作。筆者選擇了該書的第一章和第二章作為此次翻譯實踐材料,并在此基礎上撰寫了翻譯實踐報告。盡管越來越多的西方著作被譯介入國內,但關于學術著作的翻譯研究相對較少。學術著作主要用來表達作者在某一領域的學術理論和學術觀點,具有很強的專業(yè)性和邏輯性,且用詞嚴謹,包含大量復雜長句。上述特點也構成筆者翻譯的主要難點。筆者借用諾德的文本分析模式,在譯前,從文外因素(文本作者或者發(fā)送者、發(fā)送者意圖、文本的讀者對象、文本的交際媒介或者渠道、文本生成和接受的時間和地點、交際動機)和文內因素(文本的主題、文本所表達的內容或者信息、文本的構成或者結構、文本的詞匯特點、句法結構)兩個角度對源語文本進行分析。通過分析源語文本,筆者充分了解翻譯材料的語言特點、表達功能和翻譯難點,并在此基礎上探究相應的策略和方法。筆者發(fā)現(xiàn)詞匯層面的難點主要集中在熟詞僻義和專業(yè)術語的翻譯上,句法層面的難點主要集中在插入語和復雜長句...
