本次翻譯實(shí)踐材料選自美國(guó)學(xué)者羅伯·尼克森的著作《慢性暴力與窮人的環(huán)境主義》(Slow Violence and the Environmentalism of the Poor)。該作品是環(huán)境批評(píng)領(lǐng)域重要的學(xué)術(shù)著作。筆者選擇了該書的第一章和第二章作為此次翻譯實(shí)踐材料,并在此基礎(chǔ)上撰寫了翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告。盡管越來越多的西方著作被譯介入國(guó)內(nèi),但關(guān)于學(xué)術(shù)著作的翻譯研究相對(duì)較少。學(xué)術(shù)著作主要用來表達(dá)作者在某一領(lǐng)域的學(xué)術(shù)理論和學(xué)術(shù)觀點(diǎn),具有很強(qiáng)的專業(yè)性和邏輯性,且用詞嚴(yán)謹(jǐn),包含大量復(fù)雜長(zhǎng)句。上述特點(diǎn)也構(gòu)成筆者翻譯的主要難點(diǎn)。筆者借用諾德的文本分析模式,在譯前,從文外因素(文本作者或者發(fā)送者、發(fā)送者意圖、文本的讀者對(duì)象、文本的交際媒介或者渠道、文本生成和接受的時(shí)間和地點(diǎn)、交際動(dòng)機(jī))和文內(nèi)因素(文本的主題、文本所表達(dá)的內(nèi)容或者信息、文本的構(gòu)成或者結(jié)構(gòu)、文本的詞匯特點(diǎn)、句法結(jié)構(gòu))兩個(gè)角度對(duì)源語文本進(jìn)行分析。通過分析源語文本,筆者充分了解翻譯材料的語言特點(diǎn)、表達(dá)功能和翻譯難點(diǎn),并在此基礎(chǔ)上探究相應(yīng)的策略和方法。筆者發(fā)現(xiàn)詞匯層面的難點(diǎn)主要集中在熟詞僻義和專業(yè)術(shù)語的翻譯上,句法層面的難點(diǎn)主要集中在插入語和復(fù)雜長(zhǎng)句...
