道歉在本質(zhì)上是一種補救性實施行為,也是一種注重聽話人面子需要的禮貌性行為。道歉的基本功能是對冒犯的行為提供補救措施,恢復交際雙方的和諧關系。作為維護人際關系和恢復社會平衡的重要手段,一直受到國內(nèi)外學者的廣泛關注。近些年來,隨著道歉言語行為成為變異研究的一個關注點,因而社會語言學領域的道歉言語行為變異研究也日益豐盈。以往學者大多傾向于研究性別差異對道歉語使用的影響,而在多種社會變量共同作用下的道歉語的變異使用特征研究亟需加強。本研究基于BNC64語料庫中的真實語料,將William Labov（1984）的變異理論與Brown&Levinson（1987）的禮貌原則相結合。采取卡方獨立性檢驗的研究工具將定量與定性研究方法相結合分別研究八個道歉表達方式（I’m sorry,oh sorry,excuse me,I’m afraid,pardon me,I apologize,my fault,I beg your pardon）,目的在于探討在三個社會變量年齡、性別、社會階層影響下,英語口語中的道歉言語行為的變異特征。具體的研究問題如下:（1）英語口語中在性別、年齡、社會階層影響下...
