意向與行動——王陽明“知行合一”說的哲學闡釋

文章摘要：“知行合一”被看作王陽明標志性的哲學觀點之一。王陽明有關知行合一的思想比較復雜，它由很多命題構成。文章著重討論知行合一這個命題所包含的一個一般性的哲學問題：在道德行動中，意向與行動究竟是什么關系？通過逐一分析王陽明的相關論述：好惡屬行，念動是知亦是行，意是行之始，知是行之始，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)，在意向與行動的關系問題上，王陽明的理解已經(jīng)涉及作為行動的意向、作為善良意志的意向這些層面。前者有將有意識的行動與用以行動的意向融合的傾向，，后者則注意到意向與意欲或意愿的聯(lián)系。由于王陽明在使用“意”這個名詞時并未自覺地意識到其不同面向，在其論述中產(chǎn)生了一定的混亂或自相矛盾。王陽明的思路是：假設人都有行善的善良意愿，從而使得行善就變成聽從或順應自己內(nèi)心召喚的簡單之事，對于當代道德哲學、行動哲學的相關討論不無啟發(fā)，也許行動的最終源泉既不是理性計算，也不是感性沖動，而在于行動者固有的美德。

Abstr：The doctrine of ＂Unity of Knowledge and Action＂ is regarded as one of representative phil- osophical insights of Wang Yangming. This essay focuses on a general philosophical issue which is em- bodied in the accounts of this doctrine, i.e. what is on earth the relationship between intention and action in moral acts？ The essay investigates in details the related propositions of Wang Yangming. The intention Wang Yangming refers involves the intention as act and intention as good will. In the former tense, Wang inclines to corporate conscious action with the intention to act. In the later sense, Wang actually see the relation between intention and desire or will. The main idea of Wang Yangming is that doing morally means doing according to one＇ s own conscience if everyone has the good will to do morally, which suggest that the origin of moral acts does not lie in the rational calculation or the impulse of sensibility but the in- nate virtue of agent.
