小說《獻給愛米麗的玫瑰花》的人際意義分析

本文將系統(tǒng)功能語言學(xué)理論運用于文學(xué)題材,即?思{的短篇小說《獻給愛米麗的玫瑰花》,試圖通過語篇中豐富的人際意義來闡釋文本。該分析一方面關(guān)注短篇小說中角色之間的人際交換,另一方面也涵蓋了敘述者與聽眾之間的人際互動。通過態(tài)度、協(xié)商和聲音三方面的人際功能系統(tǒng),本文旨在完成兩項任務(wù):一、研究在語言學(xué)理論的幫助下應(yīng)該怎樣系統(tǒng)、正確地分析文學(xué)作品;二、檢驗系統(tǒng)功能語言學(xué)的人際理論能否被有效地應(yīng)用到語篇分析實踐中去。需要強調(diào)的是,第一項任務(wù)的完成對于文學(xué)作品研究入門者具有重要的意義;作為初學(xué)者,他們往往因紛繁的傳統(tǒng)文學(xué)批評理論無章可循而感到手足無措。 通過分析研究,本文得出了若干結(jié)論,譬如:一、雖然小說中敘述者關(guān)于主角愛米麗的評價反復(fù)且褒貶不一,但基于態(tài)度及協(xié)商系統(tǒng)的分析,我們可以確定敘述者所試圖建構(gòu)的愛米麗是一位孤僻固執(zhí)并且堅守其衰敗家族體面的老人,總體上帶有否定色彩;二、敘述者在與聽眾互動的過程中所采用的三種語篇資源各有其作用,其中投射的運用可以讓敘述在客觀性與可親近性之間保持平衡,情態(tài)的使用適當(dāng)?shù)亻_放協(xié)商讓聽眾參與到敘述中,而讓步連接詞等銜接資源則通過監(jiān)控聽眾的預(yù)期而讓敘述者與語篇之外的聽眾建...
