1945年至1951年間美國文壇出現(xiàn)了一批頗具影響的二戰(zhàn)小說。韋恩米勒將這些小說分為三類：一類是秉承一戰(zhàn)小說傳統(tǒng)的二戰(zhàn)小說，另一類是表現(xiàn)戰(zhàn)爭的殘酷卻又將其視為人類社會常態(tài)的二戰(zhàn)小說，最后一類則是對美國社會持批評態(tài)度的二戰(zhàn)小說。本篇論文所研究的三部小說——?dú)W文肖的《幼獅》、諾曼梅勒的《裸者與死者》和詹姆斯瓊斯的《從這里到永恒》均屬于第三類二戰(zhàn)小說。這三部小說在描寫戰(zhàn)爭的同時(shí)，剖析了美國軍隊(duì)和社會中的極權(quán)體制、種族歧視、等級制度給人們帶來的心理創(chuàng)傷，從不同角度展現(xiàn)了創(chuàng)傷的社會原因，引發(fā)讀者對美國社會和美國價(jià)值觀的質(zhì)疑。目前國內(nèi)外有關(guān)美國二戰(zhàn)文學(xué)的創(chuàng)傷研究對表現(xiàn)納粹集中營、大屠殺的文學(xué)作品關(guān)注較多，而對表現(xiàn)二戰(zhàn)時(shí)期普通美國士兵心理創(chuàng)傷的作品的研究則顯得相對薄弱。本篇論文對這三部小說的研究將有助于填補(bǔ)這一空白。當(dāng)代創(chuàng)傷研究認(rèn)為，創(chuàng)傷不僅源于創(chuàng)傷事件，更源于一種受害者無以言表的狀態(tài)。這種表述困難既有創(chuàng)傷自身特點(diǎn)的原因，也有社會因素的作用。出于政治目的，美國的官方歷史敘事有意識地渲染美軍在戰(zhàn)爭中的勝利，而對美國軍隊(duì)中存在的少數(shù)族裔士兵受到歧視、普通士兵遭受欺壓等種種問題及其社會根源避而不談。在戰(zhàn)后...
