身份的追尋:后殖民主義視角下的《看不見的人》

《看不見的人》是拉爾夫·埃里森花費七年嘔心瀝血完成的唯一一部長篇小說,自1952年第一次出版時,被譽為劃時代的小說,可以說是現(xiàn)代美國黑人生活的史詩。一些主要的書評報刊,如《紐約時報》、《時代》、《星期六評論》都高度贊揚了這部小說,一致認為它具有重要的文學(xué)價值,是美國黑人文學(xué)史上具有里程碑意義的小說!犊床灰姷娜恕肥紫仁且徊亢谌诵≌f,作者從黑人的生活中取得第一手的材料,通過對一個出身貧寒的南方黑人青年經(jīng)歷的描寫,描繪了黑人在白人主宰的美國社會中的種種經(jīng)歷和磨難。整部小說就是主人公,作為現(xiàn)代人的美國黑人,向我們講述他自己如何探索、尋找自我身份的生活歷程,因此《看不見的人》是典型的以身份危機作為主題的一部小說。埃里森在這篇小說中深刻的指出,美國黑人的主要痛苦不再是以往來自白人的赤裸裸的殖民主義剝削,而是一種新的剝削形式,即“看不見”的后殖民主義剝削。后殖民主義是歐美發(fā)達國家對“落后”民族和國家進行思想、文化、意識等方面的圍剿和滲透的一種侵略政策。本論文以后殖民主義中弗朗茲·法農(nóng)的種族和身份觀點,賽義德的“他者”概念和霍米·巴巴的“第三空間”理論作為理論依據(jù)來解讀小說《看不見的人》的主題。小說...
