　　繼1952年《看不見的人》出版發(fā)行僅一年以后,艾立森獲得了美國國家圖書獎。若干年后,“隱身”這一概念如同“第22條軍規(guī)”一樣,成為英文中的一個常用詞。因?yàn)椤犊床灰姷娜恕肥且徊楷F(xiàn)代主義的杰作,所以本論文重點(diǎn)探討了貫穿全書的“身份探尋”這一永恒的主題,并分析了作者如何運(yùn)用敘事手法來闡明這一主體的。論文的引言部分是簡要的文獻(xiàn)綜述和對本科研目標(biāo)的界定。論文的正文分為兩個主要部分。第一部分詳細(xì)分析了書中主人公的自我探尋過程,追溯了他從焦慮不安到自我欺騙再到自我醒悟的心路歷程。他起步時期是一個對未來成功充滿幻想的年輕人,對社會的陰暗面和人生挫折沒有絲毫心理準(zhǔn)備。然而在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中,他一次又一次遭到幻滅的打擊,這使他感到困惑,為世界、社會和自我的命運(yùn)而擔(dān)憂。這樣的心理震撼使他意識到自我的渺小,這更加深了他的不安。他本能地用自我欺騙的方法來逃避現(xiàn)實(shí),免得直面真實(shí)的自我,因?yàn)閷ψ晕液椭苓叕F(xiàn)實(shí)的冥思苦想無疑會給他帶來巨大痛苦,而他需要一個緩沖。在體驗(yàn)了無數(shù)次的凌辱和挫敗感之后,他意識到自我欺騙無濟(jì)于事,也認(rèn)識到他的過去、他的根以及那個他一直試圖摒棄的“身份”恰恰是他的真實(shí)自我。此時他毅然接受了這個真實(shí)的自我...
