　　赫伯特·喬治·威爾斯（1866-1946）是20世紀初英國文壇上杰出的現(xiàn)實主義作家。他的成就是多方面的,不僅在小說領域多有建樹,同時又是社會思想家。他獲得了諸如科幻小說家、喜劇小說家、社會小說家、社會哲學家、未來預言家和人類歷史學家等眾多贊譽。然而,威爾斯最為突出的成就來自于科幻小說的創(chuàng)作�；谒诳苹眯≌f領域的不朽成就,他被公認為是英國科幻小說的泰斗,有人甚至把他比作科幻小說界的莎士比亞。威爾斯科幻小說中的女性人物不太引人注目,但這些女性人物有著豐富的性格特征和細膩的內(nèi)心活動。威爾斯關注處于邊緣地位的女性的生存困境,對女性勇敢、努力追求幸福給予肯定。論文分為五部分:第一章為引言,介紹威爾斯生平的創(chuàng)作生涯、本論文的課題來源和研究新意、國內(nèi)外研究威爾斯的現(xiàn)狀和水平以及本論文的結構;指出威爾斯在其六部科幻小說中塑造了三種典型女性形象——被動接受現(xiàn)實型、主動追求幸福型和改變社會型。第二章分析被動接受現(xiàn)實型女性。這類女性形象有三種:順從的母親、依賴的妻子和膽小被動的女性朋友。第三章探討主動追求幸福型女性。通過分析勇敢的情人、獨立的妻子和能干的女性朋友以證明這類女性的付出是有回報的。第四章中所分...
