怪誕雙性同體視角下麥卡勒斯主要作品研究

卡森·麥卡勒斯是二十世紀(jì)美國南方一位非常獨特的女作家。她在短暫的生命里創(chuàng)作了為數(shù)不少的文學(xué)作品,其作品致力于描寫人類的精神孤獨,突出表現(xiàn)了在父權(quán)制社會中令人窒息的“精神隔絕”環(huán)境下女性尋求自身身份的嘗試與抗?fàn)帯1疚募醒芯苛丝ㄉ溈ɡ账谷恐匾髌分械娜慌魅斯?米克·凱利,弗蘭淇·亞當(dāng)斯,以及愛米麗亞·埃文斯,她們分別來自麥卡勒斯的《心是獨孤的獵手》(1940),《婚禮的成員》(1946),以及《傷心咖啡館之歌》(1943)。這三位女主人公的共同特點是她們都有著男子特質(zhì),或懷著男子般的抱負(fù),她們與傳統(tǒng)南方淑女的形象相去甚遠(yuǎn)。米克和弗蘭淇是處于青春期的少女,在她們被迫接受女性身份時,她們的身份認(rèn)同給她們帶來了苦惱。愛米麗亞小姐則在這個父權(quán)社會中像男人一樣成功,并從心里藐視傳統(tǒng)南方淑女氣質(zhì),但她最終被打敗,為她的行為付出了代價。本文采用怪誕雙性同體理論來研究這三位女主人公如何在父權(quán)社會中獲得她們的身份,通過這些非傳統(tǒng)的南方女主角的抗?fàn)幖捌淇範(fàn)幍慕Y(jié)果,揭示麥卡勒斯作品中的動態(tài)身份與張力。
