從盲目到生存—瑪格麗特·阿特伍德三部小說(shuō)的主題闡釋

近年來(lái),素有加拿大“文學(xué)女爭(zhēng)”之稱的瑪格麗特·阿特伍德的作品受到國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)者、評(píng)論家的廣泛關(guān)注與研究。其文學(xué)作品大都充滿著對(duì)女性的深切關(guān)懷,并將女性與“生存”這一加拿大文學(xué)傳統(tǒng)主題緊密結(jié)合起來(lái),透視在父權(quán)統(tǒng)治的社會(huì)中女性的生存狀況。盡管“生存”主題幾乎貫穿瑪格麗特.阿特伍德的所有文學(xué)作品,但是國(guó)內(nèi)的研究主要針對(duì)其后期作品,尤其那些為她贏得國(guó)際聲譽(yù)的作品。筆者選取了三部作品作為本論文的研究對(duì)象:《浮現(xiàn)》、《貓眼》、《盲刺客》。此舉理由如下:一、所選三部作品分別創(chuàng)作于三個(gè)不同時(shí)代(《浮現(xiàn)》,1972年;《貓眼》,1988年;《盲刺客》,2000年),時(shí)間跨度將近三十年,更能充分體現(xiàn)阿特伍德小說(shuō)創(chuàng)作過(guò)程中主題的連續(xù)性;二、三部作品主題相同——女性生存;更為重要的是,三部作品中都存在著致使女主人公生存狀況產(chǎn)生危機(jī)的共同因素——象征性盲目。本文細(xì)致討論了小說(shuō)中主人公盲目的一些表現(xiàn)、深入分析了其所導(dǎo)致的后果以及主人公克服盲目、走出困境的途徑與手段。主人公的盲目主要體現(xiàn)在模糊現(xiàn)在與過(guò)去、虛幻與現(xiàn)實(shí)的界限;用“第三只眼”去觀察世界以及對(duì)自我受害者地位的不自知。因盲目而產(chǎn)生的種種不確定性包括時(shí)空錯(cuò)位、雙重...
