試驗與表達(dá)——詹姆斯·喬伊斯意識流寫作中衍變的技巧

詹姆斯·喬伊斯,作為二十世紀(jì)最杰出的現(xiàn)代主義小說家,以其富有鮮明藝術(shù)特色的意識流小說享譽世界文壇。喬伊斯專注于刻畫平凡人物的意識活動,將在混亂無序的現(xiàn)代社會中人的精神“癱瘓”作為其作品的永恒主題。小說的主人公都是微不足道的小人物,比如《尤利西斯》中的里奧納多·布魯姆。喬伊斯認(rèn)為平凡的人和事才是藝術(shù)家應(yīng)該施展藝術(shù)才能的領(lǐng)地,藝術(shù)不應(yīng)當(dāng)僅僅局限于表現(xiàn)崇高和偉大,任何讓人感到愉快的事物都是美的。他強調(diào)藝術(shù)家就是一個富有想象的牧師,將日常生活中的經(jīng)驗轉(zhuǎn)化為具有永久生命力的藝術(shù)品,他以自己的實際創(chuàng)作來實踐了這一信仰。喬伊斯的小說幾乎涉及現(xiàn)代主義的各種寫作手法,其對意識流文體和一系列紛繁復(fù)雜的藝術(shù)技巧的運用令世人嘆為觀止。喬伊斯的意識流小說對后世的小說創(chuàng)作乃至文學(xué)傳統(tǒng)都產(chǎn)生了極大的影響,具有里程碑的意義。就此而言,對其意識流小說特點進(jìn)行研究也極具必要性和重要意義。本文嘗試探索喬伊斯的基本美學(xué)思想,更重要的是發(fā)掘意識流寫作在其小說《都柏林人》、《一個青年藝術(shù)家的肖像》以及《尤利西斯》中自萌芽到不斷發(fā)展直至成熟的過程。由探索喬伊斯的美學(xué)思想,得出其堅持以人物意識為描寫對象的原因在于力求盡可能真實地表現(xiàn)...
