[Abstract]:Toni Morrison, the only black female winner of the Nobel Prize in literature in history, "Paradise" tells the story of a group of black people who marched westward because of racial discrimination to create their own paradise, a purely black community. At first, the town's economy was booming in the early days of its construction, but as time went on, it declined. To make matters worse, there was violence in the town of blood washing of monasteries. In her novels, Toni Morrison focuses on the experiences of black women, with particular emphasis on the experiences of black women in unequal social environments. Since its publication in 1998, the novel has attracted wide attention from Chinese and foreign literary critics. They have different views on the novel and analyze it from different angles, but there is little research on it from the perspective of the archetypal criticism of the Bible. This thesis draws a conclusion from the interpretation of archetypal characters, archetypal situations and biblical images: firstly, Morrison expresses that racism leads to the isolation and self-isolation of black people, and even to the internal division of blacks; Like her other works, Paradise reveals that women, especially black women, are still severely oppressed in patriarchal societies. The use of biblical archetypes in novels greatly enhances the profundity of the novel, especially the analysis of the biblical archetypal images in the novels enriches the profound connotations of the biblical archetypes. The use of archetypes enables the work to be better understood.
