逃離他者—解讀《喜福會(huì)》中的女性主義覺醒

【摘要】:自從處女作《喜福會(huì)》1989年問世,華裔女作家譚恩美就受到了中美兩國讀者及學(xué)術(shù)界的廣泛歡迎,成為華裔文壇中的佼佼者。在她的大部分作品中,譚恩美巧妙結(jié)合自身雙重文化背景和母輩的生活體驗(yàn),創(chuàng)作出一系列極具代表性的女性形象,特別是中國移民母親和美國女兒。比如在《喜福會(huì)》中,以家庭為基石,譚恩美通過描寫母女間或夫妻間的沖突,揭示了華裔女性在美國主流文化中的尷尬處境�!断哺�(huì)》的成功給譚恩美帶來了榮譽(yù),同時(shí)也給國內(nèi)外學(xué)者留下了研究課題。為了探究出這部作品背后的涵義,很多學(xué)者從不同角度對(duì)這部小說進(jìn)行研究,例如其中反映的東西方文化沖突,對(duì)母女關(guān)系的影射,等等。 本文將從女性主義理論的視角入手,通過對(duì)文本的細(xì)讀分析,來解讀《喜福會(huì)》中的女性形象在男權(quán)社會(huì)里各自命運(yùn)的沉浮,他們的順從沒能換來寬容對(duì)待,他們的反抗終將迎來希望。 本文共有六章。第一章介紹此篇論文的目的,意義以及結(jié)構(gòu)。第二章簡(jiǎn)要回顧了譚恩美及其作品,最后總結(jié)了一些國內(nèi)外針對(duì)《喜福會(huì)》作出的相關(guān)研究。第三章列出本文的理論基礎(chǔ),女性主義,特別強(qiáng)調(diào)了波伏娃的他者理論。第四章開始分析小說中的女性是如何及為何成為他者。第五章闡述了這些女性如何在各自經(jīng)歷磨難后開始覺醒并反抗他者命運(yùn)的經(jīng)歷。第六章作為結(jié)論總結(jié)了本文,并指出在男權(quán)社會(huì)中,女性的確遭受了各種不公平對(duì)待,華裔女性更是如此。但通過自身努力,同時(shí)借鑒他人經(jīng)驗(yàn),女性終將擺脫他者身份,實(shí)現(xiàn)自我價(jià)值。
[Abstract]:Ever since her first work, Joy Luck Club, was published in 1989, Amy Tan, a Chinese woman writer, has been widely welcomed by readers and academics in China and the United States, and has become a leader in Chinese literature. In most of her works, Amy Tan cleverly combines her own double cultural background and the life experience of her parents to create a series of representative female images, especially Chinese immigrant mothers and American daughters. For example, in the Joy Luck Club, in which the family is the foundation stone, Amy Tan reveals the awkward situation of Chinese women in the mainstream American culture by describing the conflicts between mother and daughter or between husband and wife. The success of the Joy Luck Club brings honor to Amy Tan. At the same time, it also leaves a research topic for scholars at home and abroad. In order to find out the meaning behind the novel, many scholars have studied the novel from different angles, such as the cultural conflict between East and West, the relationship between mother and daughter, and so on. Starting from the perspective of feminist theory and analyzing the text carefully, this paper tries to interpret the ups and downs of the female images in Joy Luck Club in the patriarchal society, and their obedience fails to be treated with tolerance. Their revolt will eventually usher in hope. There are six chapters in this paper. The first chapter introduces the purpose, significance and structure of this paper. Chapter two briefly reviews Amy Tan and her works, and summarizes some domestic and foreign studies on Joy Luck Club. The third chapter lists the theoretical basis of this paper, feminism, with particular emphasis on Bovova's other theory. The fourth chapter begins to analyze how and why the women in the novel become other. Chapter five explains how these women begin to wake up and resist the fate of others after their own tribulation. Chapter six sums up this article as a conclusion and points out that in the patriarchal society women do suffer various kinds of unfair treatment especially Chinese women. But through their own efforts and the experience of others, women will get rid of their identity and realize their self-worth.
