【摘要】：麗貝卡·韋斯特是20世紀(jì)英國(guó)重要的小說家和評(píng)論家。她的大部分作品都反映了她對(duì)當(dāng)時(shí)社會(huì)的態(tài)度,《士兵歸來》就是其中之一。在這部小說里,韋斯特描述了一個(gè)硝煙彌漫、動(dòng)蕩不安的社會(huì)。生存在這樣的社會(huì)環(huán)境下,人們寧愿選擇失憶來逃避殘酷的社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí)。小說主人公克里斯的最后記憶之所以停留在190]年,是因?yàn)檫@一年維多利亞女王去世、愛德華王子繼位。愛德華時(shí)代在英國(guó)歷史上是一個(gè)比較動(dòng)蕩的時(shí)代,一戰(zhàn)把整個(gè)社會(huì)變成了人間地獄,人們飽受戰(zhàn)亂之苦。因此小說中克里斯只記得1901年前所發(fā)生的事情,而忘記1901年后發(fā)生的所有事情。通過把這段空白記憶放在這樣的一個(gè)殘酷背景下,韋斯特試圖揭示西方現(xiàn)代社會(huì)的動(dòng)蕩和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)給人們的生活帶來的巨大災(zāi)難。許多評(píng)論家從不同角度對(duì)這部小說做了豐富的研究,包括創(chuàng)傷、女性主義、性別身份等角度,但是很少有人觸及小說中的失憶癥主題。通過比較研究克里斯隱藏的記憶和丟失的記憶,本文著眼于失憶癥主題研究,旨在揭示當(dāng)時(shí)的動(dòng)蕩社會(huì)和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)給人們生活帶來的災(zāi)難。最后,克里斯復(fù)原的記憶,又將他送回這樣的社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí)。小說題目具有深刻的諷刺意義,男主人公克里斯遭受的失憶癥痛苦,并不是一種特殊個(gè)體際遇,而是生活在那個(gè)時(shí)代的大多數(shù)人們的社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí),因?yàn)槭洶Y對(duì)他們而言是最好的逃避社會(huì)殘酷現(xiàn)實(shí)的方法。本文除導(dǎo)論和結(jié)束語,共分三章。第一章結(jié)合殘酷的社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí),分析了克里斯遺失的記憶。內(nèi)心的壓抑和殘酷的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)長(zhǎng)久地困擾著他,而所有這些悲傷的記憶都是當(dāng)前社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí)的產(chǎn)物。第二章主要討論克里斯隱藏的記憶�？死锼乖谕洑埧岈F(xiàn)實(shí)的同時(shí),選擇性地重拾1901年之前的記憶,其中包括他幼時(shí)的記憶,對(duì)戀人瑪格麗特的記憶等。通過對(duì)這些美好的記憶的描述,其背后的意義也就不言而喻了,它是和平安定的象征,也是逃避現(xiàn)實(shí)社會(huì)的有效手段。第三章主要討論了克里斯記憶的恢復(fù)。如果說記憶的恢復(fù)意味著重回現(xiàn)實(shí),那么現(xiàn)實(shí)究竟是怎么樣的呢?現(xiàn)實(shí)就是殘酷動(dòng)蕩,硝煙彌漫的戰(zhàn)火年代。因此在那個(gè)年代,人們?nèi)粝霃氖洶Y中恢復(fù)過來,他們就面臨著重返戰(zhàn)場(chǎng)的殘酷事實(shí)。所以克里斯的恢復(fù)有強(qiáng)烈的諷刺意味。結(jié)束語部分,本文指出殘酷的社會(huì)現(xiàn)實(shí)和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)給人們帶來了極大的災(zāi)難。因此人們選擇失憶來逃避現(xiàn)實(shí)。事實(shí)上改變個(gè)體命運(yùn)的唯一途徑是改變當(dāng)前的動(dòng)蕩社會(huì),停止發(fā)動(dòng)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)。
[Abstract]:Rebecca West was an important British novelist and critic in 20th century. Most of her works reflect her attitude to society, including the return of soldiers. West describes a smoky, turbulent society in which he lives. People prefer to choose amnesia to escape the cruel social reality. Chris's last memory stays at 190 years because of the death of Queen Victoria that year. Prince Edward's succession. Edward's time was a turbulent one in British history, and World War I turned the whole society into a hell on earth. People suffer from war. So Chris only remembers what happened before 1901. And forget everything that happened after 1901. By putting this blank memory in such a cruel context. West tries to reveal the upheaval of modern western society and the great disaster brought by war to people's life. Many critics have done a lot of research on the novel from different angles, including trauma and feminism. Gender identity and other perspectives, but few people touch on the theme of amnesia in the novel. Through a comparative study of Chris' hidden memory and lost memory, this paper focuses on the theme of amnesia. Finally, Chris recovers his memory and sends him back to such social reality. The title of the novel is deeply ironic. Chris's suffering from amnesia is not a special personal encounter, but the social reality of most people living in that era. Because amnesia is the best way to escape the cruel reality of society for them. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper is divided into three chapters. Chapter one combines the cruel social reality. Analyzes Chris's lost memory. His inner repression and brutal war haunt him for a long time. All these sad memories are the product of current social realities. Chapter two focuses on Chris's hidden memory, which selectively restores memories before 1901 while forgetting cruel realities. These include memories of his childhood, memories of his lover Marguerite, and so on. Through the description of these beautiful memories, the meaning behind them is self-evident, and it is a symbol of peace and stability. It is also an effective means to escape from reality. Chapter three mainly discusses the restoration of Chris' memory. If the restoration of memory means returning to reality, what is the reality? The reality is a time of brutal upheaval, an era of gunfire. So in those days, people wanted to recover from amnesia. They face the cruel fact of returning to the battlefield. So Chris's recovery is ironic. Conclusion. This paper points out that cruel social reality and war have brought great disaster to people. Therefore, people choose amnesia to escape reality. In fact, the only way to change the fate of individuals is to change the current turbulent society. Stop waging war.
