文化背景對翻譯的影響

語言不僅是文化的組成部分并且反映著文化,語言是文化的產(chǎn)物和載體。語言與文化密不可分。而翻譯則不僅是語言間的轉(zhuǎn)換也是文化間的交流。隨著國際文化交流的擴大,翻譯的任務也變得越來越重要。每個國家都有自己的文化背景。文化背景必然對翻譯造成影響。根據(jù)紐馬克對文化背景的分類,文化背景知識可以分為五類。第一類是生態(tài)文化包括動物,植物,地理,山脈,平原等等;第二類是物質(zhì)文化包括衣食住行等等;第三類是社會文化包括人們工作和休閑的方式以及對工作和休閑的態(tài)度等等;第四類是機構,風俗,觀念文化,體現(xiàn)在政治方面,法律方面,宗教方面,藝術方面等等;最后一類是體態(tài)和習慣文化。 自從20世紀90年代翻譯的“文化轉(zhuǎn)向”以來,人們對翻譯的認識發(fā)生了根本性的變化:翻譯活動是一項復雜的人類活動,它不是單純的語言轉(zhuǎn)換,更是兩種文化的轉(zhuǎn)換,是一種跨文化的交際行為。翻譯不能在真空中進行,而是受到一定的社會文化因素的影響。本文探討了語言、文化與翻譯三者之間的關系,并重點探討了文化背景知識是如何影響翻譯的。作者給出了諸多例子以便讓譯者對文化背景在翻譯中的的影響有一個更清晰的了解。 所以,譯者應該有廣泛的文化背景知識,避免誤譯現(xiàn)象的產(chǎn)生...
