在文化熱潮的影響下,學(xué)界對(duì)翻譯本質(zhì)的認(rèn)識(shí)進(jìn)一步深入。翻譯被定義為一種文化與異質(zhì)的文化他者之間的交流活動(dòng),在兩個(gè)異質(zhì)文化交流的過(guò)程中,由于受到社會(huì)歷史文化因素的影響,譯文在力圖“忠實(shí)”傳達(dá)原文思想的同時(shí)必然會(huì)出現(xiàn)一些“不忠實(shí)”的現(xiàn)象。作為文化研究學(xué)派成果卓著的學(xué)者之一的Lefervere便指出翻譯即改寫(xiě)。他打破了傳統(tǒng)的以原文為中心,以譯文和原文比對(duì)為主要手段的研究方法,將翻譯研究置于社會(huì)文化的大背景下,對(duì)譯文進(jìn)行描述性研究,并指出意識(shí)形態(tài)、翻譯活動(dòng)贊助人、詩(shī)學(xué)形態(tài)等等因素都極大地影響著譯文文本的形成。改寫(xiě)理論具有廣泛的解釋力,有利于揭示蘊(yùn)藏在翻譯背后的社會(huì)文化因素,從更加寬廣的背景下解讀以翻譯為橋梁的跨文化交際行為,因而被較多的運(yùn)用于翻譯文本的解讀中。 《宋明平話選》選譯自被譽(yù)為“中國(guó)古代白話小說(shuō)中的雙壁”的“三言二拍”。楊氏夫婦（楊憲益與戴乃迭）從中選取若干故事,編譯而成的《宋明平話選》被楊憲益稱為“最滿意的作品”,楊氏夫婦的翻譯,尤其是他們?cè)谥凶g英方面所作的大量工作,在我國(guó)翻譯界久享盛譽(yù),以此文本為研究對(duì)象對(duì)于當(dāng)前日益發(fā)展的典籍英譯可以提供一定的借鑒作用。另一方面,長(zhǎng)期以來(lái)對(duì)...
