【摘要】：自譯是一種特殊的翻譯行為,近年來在翻譯研究者中獲得了越來越多的關注。由于在自譯中作者與譯者合為一體,其譯文相對其他非自譯的譯文呈現(xiàn)出較高的靈活性。然而,相關研究大多只關注其作者及譯者為一體的特殊性,并將其譯文的靈活性歸為自譯者的高主體性。本文以蕭乾在旅英七年期間(1939-1946)自譯的小說、散文為研究對象,認為其自譯活動受到了當時二戰(zhàn)背景下的意識形態(tài)的影響。本文主要以歷史資料梳理和具體案例分析的方法來考察蕭乾自譯這一看似主觀的活動中的客觀因素,即其所受當時戰(zhàn)時歷史語境下意識形態(tài)的影響,主要包括其自譯動機、翻譯選材及自譯策略所受意識形態(tài)的影響。本文的主要發(fā)現(xiàn)如下:蕭乾的自譯動機是其在戰(zhàn)爭的歷史背景以及西方人士對中國“古玩店”的錯誤認識下而產(chǎn)生的更加強烈的傳播中國現(xiàn)代化進程以及新文藝的愿望;蕭乾所選的自譯文本一是有關大背景下國家所受的災難,二是有關小背景下窮苦人民、婦女兒童所受的災難,正是反映了戰(zhàn)爭中人們所面臨的現(xiàn)實;蕭乾在自譯中采用的特殊自譯策略包括大量增刪和更改,根據(jù)歸納大致達到了三種效果,一是降低了讀者的閱讀障礙,二是強化了戰(zhàn)斗精神,三是維護了中國的形象,這也都與當時的戰(zhàn)爭相關的意識形態(tài)相符。因此,本文認為,蕭乾在20世紀40年代所進行的自譯活動及其自譯所呈現(xiàn)出的特殊面貌是受當時戰(zhàn)爭相關意識形態(tài)影響的。
