中美高校網(wǎng)站大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介的體裁對(duì)比分析

【摘要】:Swales和Bhatia的體裁分析理論為分析專門(mén)用途語(yǔ)篇的宏觀結(jié)構(gòu)和交際功能提供了新的視角。作為宣傳大學(xué)、提升大學(xué)知名度和影響力的專門(mén)用途語(yǔ)篇,大學(xué)網(wǎng)站中的學(xué)校簡(jiǎn)介也有其主要的交際目的和具有顯著特點(diǎn)的體裁結(jié)構(gòu)。中美大學(xué)學(xué)校簡(jiǎn)介擁有相似的交際目的,屬于同一體裁,但兩者在體裁結(jié)構(gòu)方面存在哪些異同仍有待研究。為了提高中國(guó)大學(xué)網(wǎng)站中文簡(jiǎn)介英譯文本的質(zhì)量,使之更加符合國(guó)際化的標(biāo)準(zhǔn),有必要對(duì)中美網(wǎng)站大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介進(jìn)行體裁對(duì)比分析,發(fā)掘異同之處,對(duì)中國(guó)大學(xué)網(wǎng)站簡(jiǎn)介文本英譯提出建議。 為此,本研究分別在中國(guó)校友會(huì)網(wǎng)中國(guó)大學(xué)排行榜及美國(guó)大學(xué)綜合排行榜上選取了排名前100的大學(xué),然后在100所中國(guó)大學(xué)和100所美國(guó)大學(xué)中各隨機(jī)抽取30所作為研究的對(duì)象。在這60所大學(xué)官方網(wǎng)站上獲得英文學(xué)校簡(jiǎn)介作為本研究的數(shù)據(jù)。主要運(yùn)用語(yǔ)步/步驟分析法分別對(duì)中美大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介進(jìn)行分析,根據(jù)語(yǔ)義和語(yǔ)言標(biāo)記來(lái)鑒別語(yǔ)篇中的語(yǔ)步或步驟。研究發(fā)現(xiàn)中美大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介中出現(xiàn)的所有語(yǔ)步及必需語(yǔ)步和可選語(yǔ)步大致相同,語(yǔ)步順序也不是絕對(duì)地直線式的,都會(huì)出現(xiàn)語(yǔ)步逆轉(zhuǎn)、重復(fù)和循環(huán)的現(xiàn)象。但在特定的一篇學(xué)校簡(jiǎn)介中,并不是所有語(yǔ)步都出現(xiàn)。中國(guó)大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介中出現(xiàn)的語(yǔ)步更加全面;語(yǔ)步順序也更具統(tǒng)一性。相比之下,美國(guó)大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介中出現(xiàn)的語(yǔ)步,不講究面面俱到;語(yǔ)步順序隨意性更大。針對(duì)這些異同,運(yùn)用架構(gòu)理論進(jìn)行闡釋。架構(gòu)是存在于我們大腦中根深蒂固的心理結(jié)構(gòu),反映我們的價(jià)值觀。處于不同文化中的人價(jià)值觀不同,架構(gòu)也自然不同。本文運(yùn)用“買(mǎi)賣(mài)架構(gòu)”闡釋了中美大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介在語(yǔ)步結(jié)構(gòu)中存在相似性的原因。而中國(guó)集體主義的價(jià)值觀以及美國(guó)個(gè)人主義的價(jià)值觀在很大程度上決定了中國(guó)人提倡統(tǒng)一,美國(guó)人追求個(gè)性的特點(diǎn),這就能很好地解釋為什么中國(guó)大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介語(yǔ)步及語(yǔ)步順序講究一致性,而美國(guó)大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介卻要凸顯特色。 為了提高中國(guó)大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介英譯的質(zhì)量,鑒于中美大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介的異同,提出幾點(diǎn)建議,如:按照英文思維組織英文簡(jiǎn)介而不是簡(jiǎn)單地翻譯中文簡(jiǎn)介;適當(dāng)刪減次要的語(yǔ)步;有些篇幅過(guò)長(zhǎng)的語(yǔ)步在簡(jiǎn)介中可簡(jiǎn)單提及重點(diǎn),詳細(xì)內(nèi)容可設(shè)置超鏈接。
[Abstract]:Swales and Bhatia's genre analysis theory provides a new perspective for the analysis of the macro structure and communicative function of special-purpose discourse. As a special purpose discourse to promote the university's popularity and influence, the school profile on the university website also has its main communicative purpose and distinctive genre structure. The brief introduction of Chinese and American universities has similar communicative purpose and belongs to the same genre, but the similarities and differences in genre structure between the two still need to be studied. In order to improve the quality of Chinese-English translation of Chinese profiles of Chinese university websites and make them more in line with the international standards, it is necessary to make a comparative analysis of the genres of university profiles of Chinese and American websites to find out the similarities and differences. Some suggestions are put forward for the English translation of the brief text of the Chinese University website. Therefore, this study selected the top 100 universities in China Alumni Association China University ranking and American University Comprehensive list, then randomly selected 30 universities from 100 Chinese universities and 100 American universities. English school profiles are available on the official websites of the 60 universities as data for this study. This paper mainly uses the method of step / step analysis to analyze the brief introduction of Chinese and American universities and to identify the steps or steps in the discourse according to the semantic and linguistic markers. It is found that all the steps and necessary steps and optional steps in the introduction of Chinese and American universities are approximately the same, and the sequence of steps is not absolutely straight-line, and the phenomena of step reversal, repetition and cycle will occur. But not all language steps appear in a particular school profile. The steps in the introduction of Chinese universities are more comprehensive and the sequence of steps is more uniform. In contrast, the language steps in American college profiles are not all-inclusive; the sequence of steps is more arbitrary. In view of these similarities and differences, uses the frame theory to carry on the explanation. Architecture is a deeply ingrained mental structure in our brains that reflects our values. People in different cultures have different values and different structures. In this paper, the author explains the reasons for the similarity in the Scolar step structure in the brief introduction of Chinese and American universities by means of Sale and purchase Framework. And the values of Chinese collectivism and American individualism, to a large extent, determine the characteristics of Chinese people advocating unity and Americans pursuing individuality. This can explain why the Chinese university briefs should be consistent with the sequence of language steps, while the American college briefs should highlight their characteristics. In order to improve the quality of English translation of Chinese university profiles, in view of the similarities and differences of the profiles of Chinese and American universities, several suggestions are put forward, such as: organizing English profiles according to English thinking rather than simply translating Chinese profiles; Some long steps can be briefly mentioned in the introduction, details can be set up hyperlinks.
