中英新聞標(biāo)題中概念隱喻認(rèn)知機(jī)制的對比研究

【摘要】:概念隱喻指概念系統(tǒng)通過隱喻的方式生成并以隱喻的方式被人理解,其本質(zhì)是通過一類事物或經(jīng)驗(yàn)來理解另一類事物或體驗(yàn)另一類經(jīng)驗(yàn)。一個(gè)概念隱喻由兩個(gè)概念域組成:始源域(source domain)和目標(biāo)域(target domain)。臺(tái)源域通常是具體的易于理解的概念,目標(biāo)域通常為抽象的難以理解的概念。概念隱喻的認(rèn)知是通過始源域(source domain)到目標(biāo)域(target domain)的映射完成。本研究試圖分析中英新聞標(biāo)題中概念隱喻的認(rèn)知機(jī)制,并對中英新聞標(biāo)題中概念隱喻的認(rèn)知機(jī)制作對比研究。 論文采用文獻(xiàn)法、比較法及案例分析法研究中英新聞標(biāo)題中的概念隱喻現(xiàn)象及認(rèn)知機(jī)制,并探討其共性和差異性。文中的語料分別取自兩份英文報(bào)紙New York Times、 Financial Times及兩份中文報(bào)中國青年報(bào)(China Youth Daily)、環(huán)球時(shí)報(bào)(Global Times)中兩天報(bào)紙的全部英文標(biāo)題(共計(jì)665條),根據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì)一共篩選出204條(其中中文報(bào)紙81條,英文報(bào)紙123條)含隱喻的標(biāo)題。經(jīng)統(tǒng)計(jì)分析及對比研究發(fā)現(xiàn),中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題的認(rèn)知機(jī)制存在以下共性和差異性: 在共性方面,首先,中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題的映射機(jī)制中均存在類似的始源域概念,其中上下、人體和戰(zhàn)爭為始源域中映射最為頻繁的三種概念;第二,中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題均具有相同的認(rèn)知機(jī)制,即擬人、動(dòng)物化、具體化及異化,其中擬人和動(dòng)物化為中英新聞標(biāo)題中最為常見的兩種認(rèn)知機(jī)制;第三,中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題的認(rèn)知機(jī)制均具有三種相同的語言表現(xiàn)形式,即以常規(guī)意義表達(dá)、以原意表達(dá)和以新奇意義表達(dá)。 在差異性方而,第一,中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題認(rèn)知機(jī)制中的始源域概念結(jié)構(gòu)存在差別;第二,在中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題中,映射過程會(huì)導(dǎo)致讀者心中對新聞標(biāo)題建立起不同的關(guān)系;第三,中英隱喻新聞標(biāo)題認(rèn)知機(jī)制的語言表現(xiàn)存在差異,如中文新聞標(biāo)題中的人體隱喻認(rèn)知機(jī)制主要以常規(guī)意義表達(dá),而英文新聞標(biāo)題中的人體隱喻認(rèn)知機(jī)制主要以原意表達(dá)。 通過對比研究,可讓英語學(xué)習(xí)者更好地理解新聞?dòng)⒄Z中錯(cuò)綜復(fù)雜的概念隱喻現(xiàn)象,為新聞?dòng)⒄Z的研究及寫作提供指南,并通過相應(yīng)途徑幫助學(xué)習(xí)者進(jìn)行概念隱喻機(jī)制建構(gòu),以期理解和準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)語義;可引導(dǎo)學(xué)習(xí)者熟悉語言文化背景中構(gòu)成概念隱喻始源域和目標(biāo)域的認(rèn)知機(jī)制基本元素,指導(dǎo)學(xué)習(xí)者學(xué)習(xí)和掌握包含全部基本或部分隱喻要素的英語語言表現(xiàn)形式,以促進(jìn)映射順利進(jìn)行;此外,也可為進(jìn)一步研究新聞?dòng)⒄Z中的概念隱喻提供理論基礎(chǔ)。
[Abstract]:Conceptual metaphor means that the conceptual system is generated by metaphor and understood by people in a metaphorical way. Its essence is to understand or experience another kind of experience through one thing or experience. A conceptual metaphor consists of two conceptual domains: the source domain source domain and the target domain target domain. Target domain is usually abstract and difficult to understand. The cognition of conceptual metaphor is accomplished by mapping from source domain to target domain. This study attempts to analyze the cognitive mechanism of conceptual metaphor in Chinese and English news headlines. A comparative study of the cognitive mechanism of conceptual metaphors in Chinese and English news headlines is also made. This paper uses literature, comparative and case analysis methods to study the conceptual metaphor phenomenon and cognitive mechanism in Chinese and English news headlines. The data were taken from two English newspapers, New York Times, Financial Times and two Chinese newspapers, China Youth Daily, Global Times. According to the statistics, a total of 204 articles were screened out (among them, 81 were Chinese newspapers). Through statistical analysis and comparative study, it is found that the cognitive mechanism of Chinese and English metaphorical news headlines has the following similarities and differences:. In the aspect of commonality, first of all, there are similar concepts of origin domain in the mapping mechanism of Chinese and English metaphorical news headlines, in which human body and war are the three most frequently mapped concepts in the original domain. Chinese and English metaphorical news headlines all have the same cognitive mechanism, that is, personification, animalization, concretization and alienation, in which personification and animalism are the two most common cognitive mechanisms in Chinese and English news headlines. The cognitive mechanism of Chinese and English metaphorical news headlines has three same linguistic expressions, that is, they are expressed in the normal sense, in the original meaning and in the novel meaning. On the otherness side, firstly, there are differences in the conceptual structure of the origin domain in the cognitive mechanism of Chinese and English metaphorical news headlines, and secondly, in Chinese and English metaphorical news headlines, the mapping process will lead to different relationships between readers' minds on news headlines; Thirdly, the cognitive mechanism of Chinese and English metaphorical headlines is different in language performance. For example, the cognitive mechanism of human body metaphor in Chinese news headlines is mainly expressed in the conventional meaning, while in English news headlines, the cognitive mechanism of human body metaphor is mainly expressed in the original meaning. Through a comparative study, English learners can better understand the intricate conceptual metaphor phenomenon in journalistic English, provide a guide for the study and writing of journalistic English, and help learners construct conceptual metaphor mechanism through corresponding ways. The purpose of this study is to understand and express semantics accurately and to guide learners to familiarize themselves with the basic elements of cognitive mechanisms that form the origin and target domains of conceptual metaphors in the context of language culture. It can guide learners to learn and master all the basic or partial metaphorical elements of English language expression to facilitate the smooth mapping. In addition, it can provide a theoretical basis for further study of conceptual metaphor in news English.
