從功能文體學的角度看幽默祝福類短信的文體特征

【摘要】:隨著網(wǎng)絡和通訊技術的迅猛發(fā)展,手機短信以其短小精悍,幽默睿智,即時迅捷等多重優(yōu)點迅速融入大眾生活,并逐步發(fā)展成為“第五媒體”,成為當代人日常信息傳播的重要渠道和載體之一。短信語言也因為其不斷呈現(xiàn)出來的鮮明特征而逐步被語言學界所關注。短信的語言雖然是以文字的形式存在,卻具有眾多口語的特點,同時自身許多獨有的特點已使其逐漸成為一種全新的語體。然而,令人遺憾的是,目前人們對短信這一新興語體的研究還不夠深入和全面,對短信語言研究多停留在直觀感性的收集、分類和介紹,形成系統(tǒng)理論的還很少。 本文以功能文體學中極具影響力的前景化理論作為理論框架,充分結合語音學,語相學,詞匯學,語義學,句法學等多學科的基礎理論,對短信語言文體特征進行了全面而詳細的分析。 關于文體形形色色的定義中,功能文體學的觀點是文體即“前景化”。Hallidy (1973)將“前景化”(foregrounding)與“突出”(prominence)進行了區(qū)分,認為只是“有動因的突出”(motivated prominence)才是“前景化”。同時,“前景化”也是“自動化”的對立面:“自動化”使事件“程序化”;而“前景化”則是對“程序”的偏離。Halliday接受了英國語言學家Leech的觀點,將突出特征分為兩類:一類是否定的,違反常規(guī)的,與其他語言或社會已接受的常規(guī)相違背的,稱為“失協(xié)”(incongruity);另一種則是肯定的,是建立常規(guī),強化常規(guī)的,是數(shù)理上的突出,稱為“失協(xié)”(deflection)。 通過對紛繁復雜的短信進行整理分類,作者發(fā)現(xiàn)根據(jù)功能的不同,短信可以分為以下幾類:信息聯(lián)絡類、幽默祝福類以及廣告公務類。幽默祝福類短信作為短信的典型,具有短信的基本特征,同時便于收集整理,成為本文用作分析的主要語料。為了客觀真實的反映短信語言的特點,作者從身邊的親朋好友以及互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上收集了大量的幽默祝福類短信作為語料,運用定性分析和實例分析等方法,從音系、語相、詞匯、句法以及語義等各個層次對其文體特征進行了詳細的分析研究。 短信語言的“失協(xié)”主要體現(xiàn)在語相層和詞匯層。在語相層,短信通過對多種標點符號的特殊使用以及空間布局的特別設計實現(xiàn)了對常規(guī)的偏離;詞匯層中,則出現(xiàn)了大量的舊詞新意、不同詞匯集的共現(xiàn)、方言、雙關詞匯及英文表達的使用,從而實現(xiàn)了短信語言在詞匯層對常規(guī)的偏離。 短信語言的“失衡”則充分體現(xiàn)在各個層次上:在音系層,為了實現(xiàn)前景化,大量使用了諧音,押韻及擬聲詞;語相層的前景化主要體現(xiàn)在逗號的大量使用,以及經(jīng)過標點符號及字母的組合而形成的表情符號的大量使用;從詞匯層來看,同素詞、數(shù)詞、同義詞近義詞、感嘆詞的頻繁使用,以及詞匯的排比和重復使用都實現(xiàn)了短信語言的前景化;在句法層,失衡主要通過句式的重復以及大量的句子成分的省略來實現(xiàn);語義層的失衡主要體現(xiàn)在各種修辭手法的頻繁使用中,包括:比喻、仿擬、擬人、排比、反語、以及突降法。 由于短信的發(fā)送與收取不受時間和空間的阻隔,其更能適應新時期的人際互動方式。這種溝通方式呈現(xiàn)出短小精悍、時尚風趣、快捷及時和方便實用等各種特征,而短信語言的各種前景化特征則正好順應了這一新興通訊方式的要求,實現(xiàn)了人與人之間信息的傳遞以及良好人際關系的建立與維持。 本文通過對大量幽默祝福型短信的文體特征分析,研究結果不僅深化了對短信的研究,同時也拓展了功能文體學的適用范圍。有助于人們?nèi)粘6绦沤浑H中更好的利用這種新型的交流方式,并感受其語言的美感,體會手機短信語言的獨特魅力。
[Abstract]:With the rapid development of network and communication technology, the short message of mobile phone is rapidly integrated into the public life with its many advantages, such as short, humorous and intelligent, instant and quick, and has gradually developed into "fifth media", which has become one of the important channels and carriers of the daily information dissemination. Although the language of short message exists in the form of words, it has many characteristics of spoken language, and many unique features of it have made it a new style. However, it is regrettable that the research on this new style of text is not thorough and comprehensive at present. The study of letter language mostly stays in the collection, classification and introduction of intuition, and very few systems theory is formed.
This paper, based on the theoretical framework of the highly influential prospect theory in functional stylistics, fully combines the basic theories of phonetics, phonology, lexicology, semantics, and sentence jurisprudence, and makes a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the stylistic features of SMS language.
In the definition of style and color, the view of functional stylistics is that style is "foreground".Hallidy (1973) distinguishes between "foregrounding" and "prominence", and that only "motivated prominence" is "foreground". At the same time, "foreground" is "automation" and "automation". In order to objectively and truly reflect the characteristics of short message language, the author collected a large number of humorous blessings as a corpus from relatives and friends and on the Internet, using qualitative analysis and case analysis to analyze their stylistic features from different levels, such as phonology, language, vocabulary, syntax and semantics. The "loss of association" in the text message language is mainly reflected in the language layer and the vocabulary layer. In the language layer, short message has achieved the conventional deviation through the special use of a variety of punctuation marks and the special design of the spatial layout. In the vocabulary layer, there are a large number of new meanings of old words, the co occurrence of different vocabulary sets, dialects, pun vocabulary and English expression. Thus, the deviation of the short message language from lexical level to routine is realized.
The "imbalance" of short message language is fully embodied in all levels: in the phonological layer, homophonic, rhyme and onomatopoeia are used in great quantities in order to realize the prospect. The foreground of the language layer is mainly embodied in the large use of commas, and the use of the emoticons formed by the combination of punctuation symbols and letters; from the lexical level, the same Word, numeral, synonym, synonym, interjection frequently used, and the comparison and reuse of words all realize the foreground of short message language; in the syntactic layer, the imbalance is mainly realized through the repetition of sentence patterns and the omission of a large number of sentence components; the imbalance of the semantic layer is mainly reflected in the frequent use of various rhetorical devices, including the frequent use of various rhetorical devices. Through the analysis of the stylistic features of a large number of humorous blessings, this paper not only deepens the study of SMS, but also expands the scope of functional stylistics. It helps people to make better use of this new mode of communication in daily short message communication, feel the aesthetic sense of its language, and realize the unique language of mobile phone.
