本報(bào)告是譯者在對(duì)《語(yǔ)言的誕生:人類(lèi)最偉大的發(fā)明》一書(shū)承擔(dān)章節(jié)進(jìn)行翻譯后,撰寫(xiě)的翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告。該書(shū)英文原版出版于2017年,其譯本預(yù)計(jì)在2020年初由中信出版社出版。與常見(jiàn)的語(yǔ)言學(xué)讀物不同,該書(shū)并非深?yuàn)W的理論,作者丹尼爾·埃弗里特在詮釋相關(guān)理論的同時(shí)從各個(gè)學(xué)科中旁征博引。作者從古人類(lèi)的崛起引開(kāi),嘗試結(jié)合人類(lèi)學(xué)、語(yǔ)言學(xué)、認(rèn)知科學(xué)、古神經(jīng)病學(xué)、考古學(xué)、生物學(xué)、神經(jīng)科學(xué)和靈長(zhǎng)類(lèi)動(dòng)物學(xué)等學(xué)科探究語(yǔ)言在人類(lèi)進(jìn)化過(guò)程中的發(fā)展。因此在翻譯中不可避免出現(xiàn)大量各類(lèi)學(xué)科的術(shù)語(yǔ),而這正是翻譯中的重點(diǎn)。本報(bào)告共分四個(gè)章節(jié)。第一章介紹、概述整個(gè)翻譯項(xiàng)目,包括對(duì)源語(yǔ)文本和作者的介紹,以及翻譯本書(shū)的意義。第二章報(bào)告整個(gè)翻譯過(guò)程:從譯前準(zhǔn)備到創(chuàng)建翻譯項(xiàng)目,以及最后的譯后編輯和項(xiàng)目提交,其中著重說(shuō)明整個(gè)翻譯過(guò)程中遇到的困難,解決辦法和使用的翻譯工具,并輔以圖表幫助說(shuō)明。第三章將從讀者接受度以及翻譯技巧的視角進(jìn)行具體的案例分析,包括術(shù)語(yǔ)翻譯、人工翻譯修改以及審校的環(huán)節(jié)。最后一章將對(duì)整個(gè)翻譯過(guò)程進(jìn)行總結(jié),希望為其他翻譯類(lèi)似文本類(lèi)型的譯者提供些許參考和建議。
