本文是詹姆斯·尤因·里奇所著《倫敦不為人知的一面》節(jié)選部分的英漢翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告。譯者以科勒的等值理論為指導(dǎo),針對實(shí)際翻譯過程中如何實(shí)現(xiàn)詞匯對等、交際對等及文本形式對等問題,提出了有效的翻譯策略進(jìn)行應(yīng)對。翻譯是兩種語言間的“對話”,翻譯等值研究有助于對話的順利進(jìn)行,實(shí)現(xiàn)源文本和目標(biāo)文本的對等�！暗戎怠弊鳛槲鞣椒g理論的一大核心概念,也無疑受到國內(nèi)外許多學(xué)者的重點(diǎn)關(guān)注。瑞士語言學(xué)家沃納·科勒重新定義“等值”這一概念,提出等值翻譯理論,劃分了五種等值關(guān)系類型,即外延、內(nèi)涵、文本規(guī)范、語用和形式等值關(guān)系。受源語文本及目標(biāo)讀者所處交際情境的限制,譯文的不同部分需要達(dá)到不同的等值要求。本實(shí)踐報(bào)告中,譯者以等值理論為指導(dǎo),運(yùn)用直譯、直譯加注、增譯、調(diào)適等翻譯方法,探討如何在翻譯中實(shí)現(xiàn)外延、內(nèi)涵、語用和形式等值關(guān)系,從而獲得比較理想的翻譯效果。
