本文在功能語言學(xué)的理論框架內(nèi),旨在探索there be存在句在小說和學(xué)術(shù)兩種不同語域下的形式、意義及其功能上的不同。這三方面是相互聯(lián)系、相輔相成的。本文的討論從三個(gè)維度展開,即自上而下,從下到上,從外向內(nèi)。.目前,沒有學(xué)者研究某一個(gè)具體語域中的there be存在句,并且將不同語域中的there be存在句進(jìn)行對(duì)比。本文選擇小說和學(xué)術(shù)這兩種語域下的there be存在句作為研究對(duì)象,每個(gè)語域涵括500個(gè)例句,共1000個(gè)there be存在句。本文中的所有存在句取自美國(guó)當(dāng)代英語語料庫（COCA）,均由作者手工標(biāo)注,數(shù)據(jù)由語料庫工具AntConc收集完成。存在句是一個(gè)普遍的句法結(jié)構(gòu),人們用它來表達(dá)實(shí)體存在與否。原則上講,世界上的一切現(xiàn)象,只要能夠被編碼成事物的人、物體、機(jī)制或抽象概念,甚至活動(dòng)或事件,都可以通過存在結(jié)構(gòu)表達(dá)出來。從語法隱喻角度來說,存在句有一致式和隱喻式。存在句中的一致式用來表達(dá)某處存在某一實(shí)體;而隱喻式存在句則表達(dá)了現(xiàn)實(shí)世界中的事件、活動(dòng)以及抽象的精神世界等經(jīng)驗(yàn)意義。某處存在某物是存在句非標(biāo)記的用法,而表達(dá)事件、活動(dòng)、精神世界等是存在句的標(biāo)記性用法。本文借助豐富的語言實(shí)...
