語言學界專家學者一直重視對隱喻的研究。傳統(tǒng)隱喻研究中的語言學專家學者們認為在語言中隱喻是一種修辭手段。1980年,萊考夫和約翰遜的杰作《我們賴以生存的隱喻》的出版標志著隱喻研究步入了新時期,從此概念隱喻理論在語言學界開始普遍運用。概念隱喻理論認為隱喻的實質(zhì)是用一事物來感知另一事物的過程。隱喻運作機制是在相似性的基礎上把始源域映射到目標域上,這是一種普遍存在于人們的生活和語言中的基于自身體驗的認知機制。從我們?nèi)粘Ｊ褂玫姆轿辉~中,我們可以發(fā)現(xiàn)“前/后”出現(xiàn)的頻率相對較高,因此“前/后”隱喻用法的英漢對比是值得深入研究的。本文通過對英漢語料庫的英漢“前/后”隱喻對比研究,試圖解決一下研究問題：1.“前/后”隱喻在英漢兩種語言中是否普遍存在?2.“前/后”隱喻的運作原理是什么?3.“前/后”隱喻在英漢兩種語言中的應用有何異同之處?導致這種異同之處的原因是什么?為了回答上述研究問題,筆者首先使用隨機抽樣的方法搜集和整理了所需要的語料,然后英漢兩種語言中主要存在的“前/后”隱喻表達被歸類出來。其中,漢語中包含前/后的句子有4000個,英語中包含“前/后”的句子有6216個。本文中所用的英語和漢語語...
