　　《爾雅》是中國(guó)最古老的詞典,也被視為儒家傳統(tǒng)經(jīng)典之一。然而,《爾雅》向西方的譯介卻遲遲沒有引起學(xué)界的重視�！夺屍鳌肥恰稜栄拧返牡诹�。全文囊括的134個(gè)被釋器物及相關(guān)術(shù)語(yǔ)均為重要的中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化符號(hào)。該卷與《爾雅》其它大部分卷一樣,至今仍無(wú)英譯本。英譯《釋器》最主要的意義在于將先秦傳統(tǒng)的器物文化較為全面地介紹給英語(yǔ)讀者。作為《爾雅》的一卷,英譯《釋器》所遇的主要難題為原文本言簡(jiǎn)義豐的特性。此外,《釋器》文本中涵蓋的多為西漢及以前的器物術(shù)語(yǔ)解釋。由于中國(guó)歷史文化的巨大變遷,大多數(shù)西方讀者對(duì)該文本所涉及的器物缺少感性認(rèn)知和必要的文化背景知識(shí),從而導(dǎo)致普通英語(yǔ)讀者很難理解原文本所傳達(dá)的信息。因此,為目標(biāo)語(yǔ)讀者呈現(xiàn)《釋器》原文本中的語(yǔ)言語(yǔ)境和文化語(yǔ)境,確保原文本信息的有效傳達(dá),以促進(jìn)跨文化交際的成功是英譯的主要任務(wù)。在《釋器》的翻譯實(shí)踐中,通過(guò)語(yǔ)言符號(hào)和非語(yǔ)言符號(hào)之間的轉(zhuǎn)換,以確保英譯本準(zhǔn)確傳遞原文本器物文化的翻譯研究方法,深受翻譯符號(hào)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的研究啟發(fā)。受美國(guó)符號(hào)學(xué)家查爾斯·皮爾斯符號(hào)學(xué)思想的影響,羅曼·雅各布布遜將翻譯的范疇擴(kuò)大為翻譯具有三種類型,即語(yǔ)內(nèi)翻譯,語(yǔ)際翻譯和符際翻譯。這種翻譯類型劃...
