本文是基于筆者自選翻譯項目《長樂路—“小小上海街,都市大夢想”》前三章內(nèi)容進行英譯漢翻譯活動及翻譯報告。Street of Eternal Happiness:Big City Dreams Along A Shanghai Road一書是由美國一位廣播媒體界的駐華記者Rob Schmitz所著,于2016年5月17日在北美出版,目前沒有譯本。該書主要講述了作者所居住的長樂路上的人和事,體現(xiàn)了本地人和外地人在上海追逐都市之夢的真實生活,其中不乏酸甜苦辣。本書是研究中國社會階層、市井生活和民眾習俗的重要材料。同時本書展現(xiàn)了老外眼中中國人的都市生活現(xiàn)狀,其中從歷史、政治、經(jīng)濟和文化習俗方面都有所涉及,并為從事跨文化研究領(lǐng)域的外國學者提供借鑒。本書屬于紀實類報告文學,難度中等。筆者歷時三個月完成了本書前三章的翻譯實踐,共計一萬五千字的初譯,后用一個多月的時間完成校對和翻譯報告。本翻譯研究報告包括四個部分:第一個部分是引言,主要包括對原文的背景信息、翻譯報告的目標、翻譯報告的意義和翻譯報告的組織進行概括總結(jié);第二個部分是譯前準備,主要介紹了作者對文本的分析、專業(yè)術(shù)語的整理、使用的翻譯工具和改譯...
