從目的論三原則看閩南傳統(tǒng)小吃的英譯

小吃是外國(guó)人了解閩南地區(qū)的直接渠道,規(guī)范的小吃譯名不僅關(guān)乎閩南傳統(tǒng)文化的傳播,而且還能提高小吃的銷售量。遺憾的是,在街頭巷尾幾乎找不到英譯的小吃名。大酒店里存在小吃種類有限,英譯版本不規(guī)范等問題,導(dǎo)致閩南小吃的精髓難以得到體現(xiàn)。作者基于文化傳播,提升銷量?jī)蓚(gè)主要目的,對(duì)閩南傳統(tǒng)小吃進(jìn)行英譯。本文從目的論視角切入,探究閩南小吃英譯的策略和方法。作者首先分析了閩南常見小吃的命名特點(diǎn),接著從收集到的雙語(yǔ)菜單中挑出閩南傳統(tǒng)小吃進(jìn)行分析,總結(jié)出兩個(gè)典型的錯(cuò)誤類型:一是同類小吃翻譯特色的缺乏,二是小吃背后文化元素的丟失;然后鑒于米、面制品占了小吃絕大部分,為了避免同類小吃無特色譯文的問題,作者把容易混淆的米、面制品進(jìn)行了歸納和說明;最后基于目的論三原則,即目的原則、連貫原則和忠誠(chéng)原則提出了相應(yīng)的翻譯策略。研究表明,直譯,意譯,直譯加意譯和閩南語(yǔ)音譯加意譯是閩南小吃翻譯比較常見的四種翻譯方法;即使命名方式相同的小吃,也有可能采用不同的翻譯策略。翻譯策略的選擇是由翻譯的目的決定的。本文希望通過直譯,意譯,音譯,混合譯法如直譯加意譯,音譯加直譯以及音譯加意譯四類翻譯方法,有效地將閩南小吃基本信息比如食材...
