《道德經(jīng)》一書(shū)由八十一章五千字組成,是老子的經(jīng)典之作,是中國(guó)古文化的結(jié)晶,是人類(lèi)共享的文化財(cái)富。在全球文化熱潮的背景下,《道德經(jīng)》被譯成英文、法文、德文、俄文等二十多種語(yǔ)言,譯文版本多達(dá)1000多種,其中英文譯本就有一百多個(gè)來(lái)自國(guó)內(nèi)外翻譯家的不同版本。目前,對(duì)《道德經(jīng)》英譯本的研究主要集中在兩個(gè)方面：一是從不同視角對(duì)某一翻譯家的譯本進(jìn)行解讀；二是對(duì)國(guó)內(nèi)外翻譯家的不同譯本進(jìn)行比較研究。然而,從生態(tài)翻譯學(xué)這一新興視角針對(duì)國(guó)內(nèi)翻譯家的譯本研究屈指可數(shù),更是缺乏一個(gè)系統(tǒng)的、全面的解讀。因此,本文擬結(jié)合胡庚申教授的生態(tài)翻譯學(xué)理論對(duì)劉殿爵、辜正坤和許淵沖的《道德經(jīng)》英譯本進(jìn)行對(duì)比研究。清華大學(xué)胡庚申教授是生態(tài)翻譯學(xué)理論的首創(chuàng)者,這一理論的提出為翻譯研究提供了一個(gè)新視角,對(duì)譯學(xué)的建立具有積極的意義。該理論立足翻譯生態(tài)與自然生態(tài)的同構(gòu)隱喻,是一種從生態(tài)視角綜觀翻譯的研究范式。該生態(tài)翻譯研究范式以生態(tài)整體主義為理念,以東方生態(tài)智慧為依歸,以“適應(yīng)／選擇”理論為基石,系統(tǒng)探討翻譯生態(tài)、文本生態(tài)和“翻譯群落”生態(tài)及其相互關(guān)系和相互作用,致力于從生態(tài)視角對(duì)翻譯生態(tài)整體和翻譯理論本體（翻譯本質(zhì)、過(guò)程、標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、原則...
