認(rèn)知視角下英語小品詞FOR和TO的語義研究

小品詞的數(shù)量雖少,卻可以產(chǎn)生大量不同的意義,因此數(shù)十年以來一直是學(xué)術(shù)界研究的熱點(diǎn)。傳統(tǒng)結(jié)構(gòu)主義語言學(xué)家和轉(zhuǎn)換生成主義語言學(xué)家忽略了小品詞中多個(gè)義項(xiàng)間的相互聯(lián)系,也沒有很好地解釋這些義項(xiàng)的衍生過程。與此相對(duì),認(rèn)知語言學(xué)家則認(rèn)為小品詞擁有一個(gè)語義網(wǎng)絡(luò),在這個(gè)語義網(wǎng)絡(luò)中,獨(dú)立義項(xiàng)都與一個(gè)中心義項(xiàng)有聯(lián)系,這個(gè)中心義項(xiàng)被稱作原型意義。在這種觀點(diǎn)的指導(dǎo)下,認(rèn)知語言學(xué)家們提出了不同的理論來解釋小品詞的多義現(xiàn)象。例如,原型理論,概念隱喻理論和意象圖式理論。在這一階段,許多認(rèn)知語言學(xué)家都對(duì)小品詞開展了研究并取得了許多成就。但是,現(xiàn)階段的研究仍然留有可供提高的空間。泰勒和伊萬在上述三種理論的基礎(chǔ)上提出了原則性多義模式的理論。這一理論是目前相對(duì)完善和客觀的語義研究理論。本文主要根據(jù)原則性多義模式對(duì)小品詞FOR和TO進(jìn)行研究,并在此基礎(chǔ)上,對(duì)兩者語義的相似處和不同處進(jìn)行一個(gè)比較。首先,本文鑒定出了小品詞FOR和TO的原型意義和原型場(chǎng)景。在參考4部權(quán)威詞典以及結(jié)合美國當(dāng)代英語語料庫收集來的400條例句的基礎(chǔ)上,本文概括出了FOR和TO的原型意義。小品詞FOR的原型意義是“目的”意,而小品詞TO的原型意義是“朝向...
