一詞多義是語言中非常普遍的現(xiàn)象,是人類語言發(fā)展的產(chǎn)物。一詞多義現(xiàn)象,也一直是語言學(xué)界研究的熱點(diǎn)話題。不同的學(xué)者,運(yùn)用不同的理論,從不同角度對(duì)這一現(xiàn)象進(jìn)行了探討。絕大多數(shù)研究圍繞的中心點(diǎn)都是一詞多義現(xiàn)象產(chǎn)生的歷史和社會(huì)原因,或是探索多義詞心理表征的發(fā)展模式,而專門以人體詞為切入點(diǎn)對(duì)多義詞的認(rèn)知機(jī)制進(jìn)行研究的文章卻相對(duì)較少�？鬃印断缔o》中“近取諸身,遠(yuǎn)取諸物”的說法表明,古代社會(huì)里,人們?cè)诿鎸?duì)陌生世界時(shí),傾向于從自身出發(fā),以身體作為衡量外部世界的標(biāo)準(zhǔn),將身體部位和認(rèn)知經(jīng)驗(yàn)映射到其它對(duì)象上。Weller,E.在Metaphor and Meaning一書中也提及:“人是衡量一切事物的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)”。這些觀點(diǎn),論證了認(rèn)知語言學(xué)的哲學(xué)基礎(chǔ)是“體驗(yàn)哲學(xué)”這一觀點(diǎn),也就是人們通過對(duì)世界上各種事物的感知和對(duì)自己身體的認(rèn)識(shí)來描述語言,同時(shí)也體現(xiàn)了人體詞在人類認(rèn)識(shí)世界過程中不容忽視的作用。傳統(tǒng)研究使用轉(zhuǎn)喻理論和隱喻理論來解釋多義詞從本義到引申義的延伸,很少使用原型理論和意向圖示理論來解釋多義現(xiàn)象的認(rèn)知過程。本文擬立足前人研究,將原型理論、意向圖示理論與隱喻、轉(zhuǎn)喻聯(lián)系起來,以頭/head、心/heart、背/back三組人體詞為個(gè)案,探索人體詞一詞多義的認(rèn)知機(jī)制,具化原型理論和意向圖示理論在解釋人體詞詞義延伸過程中的重要作用;通過對(duì)英漢人體詞詞義延伸規(guī)律進(jìn)行比較,找出其不同點(diǎn),并就其原因進(jìn)行分析探索,以期揭示以人體詞為基礎(chǔ)所反映的英漢民族的認(rèn)知差異及人類認(rèn)識(shí)思維的普遍規(guī)律,并就其對(duì)詞匯教學(xué)和親子教育的啟示進(jìn)行探討,填補(bǔ)以人體詞為基礎(chǔ)的一詞多義現(xiàn)象研究的空白。本文在運(yùn)用隱喻、轉(zhuǎn)喻、原型理論和意向圖示在分析英漢人體多義詞過程中,有以下發(fā)現(xiàn):一、多義詞的認(rèn)知離不開原型和意向圖示,以隱喻和轉(zhuǎn)喻為基礎(chǔ)、原型和意向圖示為補(bǔ)充,是人類認(rèn)知的普遍規(guī)律。二、在歷史文化差異、想象的不同以及語言自身任意性特點(diǎn)的長期影響下,英漢相對(duì)應(yīng)的人體詞存在語義空缺。三、與英語人體多義詞相比較,漢語人體詞在表示心理活動(dòng)和社會(huì)活動(dòng)方面具備更多詞義。
