【摘要】：本篇翻譯實(shí)踐報告來自于托馬斯湯瑪士·桑維爾·庫柏所著(Thomas Thomville Cooper)《一個留辮子穿馬褂的商業(yè)先鋒的旅行記》)。此書講述的是庫珀先生從西藏游歷到印度的經(jīng)歷。此書的翻譯被分為八個部分,分別由八位譯者獨(dú)立完成,筆者負(fù)責(zé)此書第三章的翻譯,本翻譯實(shí)踐報告也是來源于此。第三章講述的是庫珀先生從宜昌到重慶這一段路上所發(fā)生的事情。講述了作者的所見所聞。本篇翻譯報告將分為五個部分:第一,任務(wù)描述,筆者將簡單的介紹一下此次翻譯項(xiàng)目;第二,過程描述,筆者將詳細(xì)的介紹整個翻譯項(xiàng)目的過程,包括準(zhǔn)備工作和所使用到的翻譯輔助工具等;第三,理論介紹,筆者將介紹接受理論的定義和翻譯策略;第四,案例分析,筆者將詳細(xì)的介紹翻譯總的思路,還有在翻譯過程中所使用到的翻譯方法,例如:省略法,增譯法,轉(zhuǎn)換法等,也會介紹關(guān)于長難句的翻譯方法。原文屬于游記類型散文,作于晚清時期,由外國人編寫而成,文章中包含了許多現(xiàn)在不常用的拼音,稱之為“威妥瑪式拼音”,筆者也會在案例分析中對威妥瑪式拼音進(jìn)行詳細(xì)的介紹,并相應(yīng)的舉出一些例子,使之與現(xiàn)在漢語拼音進(jìn)行對照;最后,筆者將對在翻譯過程中所遇到的問題和心得做些總結(jié)。通過這次的翻譯實(shí)踐,筆者了解了接受理論的基本原理,了解了怎樣把接受理論用于具體的實(shí)踐翻譯當(dāng)中。鑒于此材料尚無人翻譯,筆者在翻譯過程中查閱大量書籍,希望此譯文可以被廣大讀者接受,從而進(jìn)一步了解晚清時期的社會現(xiàn)狀與風(fēng)土人情。也希望報告中所提到的翻譯方法對譯者翻譯游記類文體有所幫助。
[Abstract]:This translation report is based on Thomas Thornville Cooper's "A Business Pioneer in braided mandarins." The book is about Mr Cooper's journey from Tibet to India. The translation of this book is divided into eight parts. The author is responsible for the translation of the third chapter of the book, which is the source of this translation practice report. The third chapter is about what happened on the way from Yichang to Chongqing. The author is told what he has seen and heard. This translation report will be divided into five parts: first, the task description, the author will briefly introduce the translation project; Second, the process description, the author will introduce the process of the whole translation project in detail, including the preparatory work and the translation assistant tools used, etc. Third, the theory introduction, the author will introduce the definition of reception theory and translation strategy. Fourth, case analysis, the author will introduce the general ideas of translation in detail, as well as the translation methods used in the translation process, such as ellipsis, incremental translation, conversion, and so on, and will also introduce the translation methods of long and difficult sentences. The original prose, written in the late Qing Dynasty and written by foreigners, belongs to the travel style prose. It contains a lot of pinyin, which is not commonly used now, and is called "Wade Pinyin". The author will also introduce the Wade pinyin in detail in the case analysis, and give some examples accordingly, so that it can be compared with the present Chinese phonetic alphabet. Finally, the author will summarize the problems encountered in the translation process. Through this translation practice, the author understands the basic principles of reception theory and how to apply it to practical translation. In view of the fact that no one has translated this material, the author has consulted a large number of books in the course of translation, hoping that the translation can be accepted by the readers, so as to further understand the social situation and local customs in the late Qing Dynasty. It is also hoped that the translation methods mentioned in the report will be helpful to translators in translating travelogue style.
