《一個世紀的文化沖突—中國的高等教育(1895-1995)》第一章翻譯實踐報告

【摘要】:譯者的翻譯實踐的文本是魯斯·海侯教授著的《一個世紀的文化沖突---中國的高等教育》,這本書是國際教育研究系列中的中國部分。這是一本國探索中國教育的發(fā)展規(guī)律的書。本書對中國教育如何趕上全球的教育水平,如何改革層次繁復(fù)、機構(gòu)羅列辦學(xué)體制以形成高效的辦學(xué)體制,如何處理好這種公立學(xué)校和私立學(xué)校的競爭關(guān)系來促進高等教育的發(fā)展等問題都有深入研究。在翻譯過程中,譯者注意到本書用比較教育學(xué)的方法對以中西方教育的進行比較,從歷史角度分析中國高等教育的本質(zhì),所以譯者著重于理清文本的歷史講述脈絡(luò),為此譯者參考了文中涉及的一些歷史事件的書和一些關(guān)于歐洲、美國教育的書來增強對文本的理解。書的的重點是總結(jié)出的對中國教育發(fā)展的規(guī)律性認識。為了準確傳達作者的這些規(guī)律性認識,譯者仔細研讀此書,知道真正領(lǐng)略了作者的意圖再下手翻譯。在翻譯過程中,譯者以功能目的論為指導(dǎo),對功能目的論在文本的詞語翻譯、句法翻譯、語篇翻譯等層面中的應(yīng)用進行了研究。運用了詞性轉(zhuǎn)換法、增譯法、減譯法、轉(zhuǎn)態(tài)譯法、意譯法、分譯法、合譯法、變序法以及語篇層面的連貫和銜接手段來翻譯。本文屬于社會調(diào)查類文章,按照功能目的論的要求,譯文應(yīng)以準確傳出源語的信息為目的。通過此次翻譯,我領(lǐng)略到,功能目的論是一個比較完善的翻譯理論,它給了譯者較大的空間發(fā)揮翻譯能力。同時它也需要在翻譯方法上進一步的發(fā)展細化。
[Abstract]:The translator's translation practice is written by Professor Ruth Haihou, "Cultural conflict in a Century-higher Education in China", a Chinese part of the series of international educational studies. This is a book that explores the laws of the development of Chinese education. This book deals with how Chinese education can catch up with the global level of education, how to reform the various levels of education, and how institutions list the system of running schools in order to form an efficient system of running schools. How to deal with the competitive relationship between public and private schools to promote the development of higher education has been deeply studied. In the course of translation, the translator notes that the book uses comparative pedagogy to compare Chinese and western education, and analyzes the essence of Chinese higher education from a historical perspective. Therefore, the translator focuses on clarifying the historical narrative of the text. For this purpose, the translator refers to some books on historical events and some books on European and American education to enhance the understanding of the text. The focus of the book is to sum up the law of the development of education in China. In order to accurately convey the author's understanding of the regularity, the translator carefully studies the book and knows that he really appreciates the author's intention before he begins to translate. In the process of translation, the translator, guided by functional Skopos, studies the application of functional Skopos in the translation of words, syntax and texts. Part of speech translation, incremental translation, subtraction, transliteration, free translation, sub-translation, co-translation, sequencing, coherence and cohesion at the discourse level are used to translate. According to the functional Skopos theory, the translation should be aimed at the accurate efferent information of the source language. Through this translation, I understand that Skopos theory is a relatively perfect translation theory, which gives the translator more space to play translation ability. At the same time, it also needs further development in translation methods.
