[Abstract]:With the deepening of China's reform and opening up and the continuous development of the economy, the exchange and trade between China and other countries become closer and closer. The demand for interpreters in various industries, especially in the field of trade, has increased significantly. Interpreting is a cross-cultural communication activity, so it is the mainstream of interpreting research to discuss interpretation from the angle of language, culture or communication. Game theory is a branch of applied mathematics, which is mainly used to analyze how each participant interacts in the case of consistent or conflicting interests in a particular situation. There is conflict and competition in language communication, and interpreting is a cross-lingual communication activity. Therefore, language game also exists in interpreting. This thesis attempts to explain the motivation and reasons behind interpreters' strategy selection in business conference interpretation from the perspective of game theory. The premise of the study is that "interpreting activities are driven by purpose and demand", and the study concludes that "interpreting is game-an interpreter and client / client, speaker, listener, other translator or commentator." The game between the interpreters themselves. Interpreters are not always able to deal with the situations encountered in the interpretation process entirely from the "utility" they expect, but must take into account the interests of the client / client, the speaker, the audience, etc., The strategy chosen by interpreters ultimately depends on the competing interests and compromises among the participants in interpretation activities. In a real business conference interpretation scenario, the interpreter may play a game with multiple interpreters at the same time and influence each other. In this paper, The author will discuss the game between interpreters and other participants in business conference interpretation. Each participant in the interpretation process is rational, and they choose their own game strategy according to the principle of maximizing their own interests. Often, interpreters try to achieve their goals by reaching some sort of compromise with other participants, but in some cases they are only interested in their own interests and do not consider other participants at all. The game is likely to be interrupted and difficult to continue. In the end, all participants gain from the game: the needs of the client are met; the speaker is better understood; the audience or audience understands the speaker's intentions and can respond accordingly. The most important point is that the interpreters gradually improve their ability to deal with various complicated interpreting tasks and solve various interpretation problems through the whole process, which will eventually promote the development of interpretation to a new level.
