在后殖民主義視角下新聞中文化專有項的中英翻譯

【摘要】:在世界的經濟發(fā)展和全球化的背景之下,便捷的信息傳播使得各國之間的文化交流不斷加深。作為信息傳播的先鋒,新聞報紙和雜志使得全球文化交流更加快捷有效。文化專有項指的是帶有不同國家和民族文化內涵的詞語,同時也是各國政治、經濟、文化等方面實力的最直接體現。中國因其悠久的歷史和文化背景,擁有很多特色的文化專有項;因此,本文將分析《時代周刊》和《中國日報》中的文化專有項中英翻譯。本文通過后殖民翻譯研究背景下重新定義的文化翻譯為基點,整理分析艾克西拉、彼得紐馬克、張南峰和許明武的文化專有項翻譯策略,總結出七種翻譯技巧,再通過對比討論《時代周刊》和《中國日報》中文化專有項的翻譯得出兩種媒體選用不同的翻譯方法:《時代周刊》更突出選詞的靈活性、創(chuàng)造新詞,而《中國日報》則側重于更加精準地表達詞句意思。找出不同點后,本文又分析了三種影響翻譯策略選擇的因素,分別是意識形態(tài)、新聞目的和讀者身份。通過對于文化專有項在新聞中中英翻譯的對比研究,本文希望可以給這個領域中英翻譯實踐提供借鑒。
[Abstract]:Under the background of the world economic development and globalization, convenient information dissemination makes the cultural exchange between countries deepen. As a pioneer of information dissemination, news newspapers and magazines make global cultural exchanges more efficient and efficient. Cultural exclusivity refers to words with cultural connotations of different countries and nationalities, and it is also the most direct embodiment of the political, economic and cultural strength of various countries. Because of its long history and cultural background, China has a lot of cultural exclusivity. Therefore, this paper will analyze the Chinese-English translation of culture-specific items in time magazine and China Daily. Based on the re-definition of cultural translation in the context of post-colonial translation studies, this paper analyzes the translation strategies of culture-specific items proposed by Aksila, Peter Newmark, Zhang Nanfeng and Xu Mingwu, and concludes seven translation techniques. Through a comparative discussion of the translation of culture-specific items in time magazine and China Daily, it is found that the two media choose different translation methods: time magazine stresses the flexibility of word selection and creates new words. The China Daily focuses on expressing the meaning of words and phrases more precisely. After finding out the differences, this paper analyzes three factors that influence the choice of translation strategies, namely ideology, news purpose and reader identity. Through the contrastive study of culture-specific translation in news, this paper hopes to provide a reference for the practice of Chinese-English translation in this field.
