中國英語學習者口頭記敘文中運動事件表達的母語遷移研究

【摘要】:運動事件表達是人類交流中最常見的一種表達方式,近年來在二語習得領域引起了越來越廣泛的關注。其中,大部分研究以Talmy(1985,1991,2000)的語言類型學理論為基礎,通過研究學習者習得與母語相同或不同類型語言時的表現(xiàn)來檢驗“思而后說”假說。此類研究大都關注母語思維對習得二語運動事件表達的影響,而語言間的客觀相似性也是影響二語運動事件習得的一個重要因素,但這方面的研究則相對匱乏。此外,關于運動事件習得與二語水平的關系,已有研究仍未得出一致結論。因此,為進一步研究英漢語不同類型相似性對中國英語學習者運動事件表達的影響,本文重點回答以下問題:1)中國大學生英語口頭記敘文中運動事件表達的總體情況如何?2)英漢語不同類型相似性如何動態(tài)的影響中國英語學習者口頭記敘文中的運動事件表達?2a)在個人層面上,英漢語不同類型相似性如何影響受試的運動事件表達?2b)在組群層面上,英漢語不同類型相似性如何影響受試的運動事件表達?作為國家社科基金項目(No.11CYY021)的一部分,本文選取了來自洛陽師范學院和華北水利水電大學的30名英語專業(yè)本科生作為研究對象。受試的口語語料收集工作由項目組成員分別在受試進入大學的第一學期初、第二學期初和學期末、第三學期末和第四學期末,分五次測試完成。所有的口語語料經(jīng)轉寫、編碼后,運用蔡金亭(2015)的比較—歸納方法框架進行了分析。研究結果如下:(1)雖然受試運動事件表達的平均正確率在50%以上,但對語料的進一步分析表明受試在動詞形式、動詞選擇、介詞、動詞搭配、冠詞等方面頻繁犯錯,錯誤率依次為31.1%、10.8%、7.8%、4.2%和2.4%。其中,動詞形式、動詞選擇和介詞使用方面的錯誤尤為突出。對這三類錯誤在五次測試中的變化情況的進一步分析表明,這三類錯誤均不隨學習者英語水平的提高呈線性減少趨勢。此外,關于英漢語不同類型相似性對學習者運動事件表達正確性的影響分析表明:英漢語的一致性在一定程度上促進了學習者運動事件的正確表達;英漢語詞匯的不一致易于造成受試運動事件表達中動詞使用的典型錯誤;而英漢語詞序、結構和半結構的不一致并未引起受試典型的錯誤表達;但動詞形式的錯誤在各類相似性結構中均較為突出。(2)在個人層面上,關于同一受試在不同測試中運動事件表達的對比,以及不同受試在同一測試中運動事件表達的對比分析表明,母語遷移在學習者之內和學習者之間均存在個體變異。在組群層面上,英漢語不同類型相似性對學習者三類運動事件表達的影響,大致呈現(xiàn)出一定的組群趨勢:英漢語運動事件表達的一致性促進了正遷移的發(fā)生;負遷移更傾向于出現(xiàn)在英漢語詞匯不一致的運動事件表達中;而英漢語詞序、結構和半結構的不一致并未導致負遷移的增加。此外,在英漢語不同類型相似性的運動事件結構中,母語遷移均呈現(xiàn)非線性變化趨勢。而且在英漢一致和詞匯不一致的結構中,正遷移和抑制性負遷移均隨著學習者英語水平的提高而顯著增多或減少。例如,在英漢語一致的中性運動事件表達中,正遷移百分比在五次測試中分別為35.7%、63.6%、45%、25%和69.2%。相鄰兩次測試的特殊Z檢驗表明,測試4和測試5的正遷移百分比在.10水平上存在顯著差異(Z=1.7851.645)。但干擾性負遷移在英漢語一致和詞匯不一致的運動事件表達中,并未隨著學習者英語水平的提高而顯著增多或減少。在英漢語詞序、結構和半結構不一致的運動事件表達中,各類遷移均呈非線性變化趨勢但并無顯著變化。本研究具有一定的理論和現(xiàn)實意義。它進一步豐富了有關跨語言相似性對運動事件習得及母語遷移影響的研究,同時在一定程度上揭示了中國英語學習者運動事件表達的特點。研究結果顯示,在教學過程中提高學生對英漢語運動事件表達中客觀相似性的注意,加強顯性教學和練習,有助于促進中國英語學習者運動事件表達的習得。
[Abstract]:The expression of sports events is the most common expression in human communication, which has attracted more and more attention in the field of two language acquisition in recent years. Most of them are based on the Talmy (198519912000) theory of language typology, and are tested by the study of the learners' acquisition of the same or different types of language in their native language. Most of these studies focus on the influence of mother tongue thinking on the acquisition of the expression of two language events, and the objective similarity between languages is also an important factor affecting the acquisition of two language sports events, but the research in this aspect is relatively scarce. In addition, the relationship between the acquisition of sports events and the level of two language has still been studied. Therefore, in order to further study the influence of different types of similarities between English and Chinese on the expression of sports events of Chinese English learners, this paper mainly answers the following questions: 1) how is the overall situation of the expression of sports events in oral English of Chinese college students? 2) the dynamic influence of different types of similarities between English and Chinese. The expression of sports events in the oral narration of Chinese English learners? 2a) on the individual level, how the different types of similarities between English and Chinese affect the expression of sports events of the subjects? 2b) how do different types of similarities between English and Chinese affect the expression of the subjects' sports events at the group level? As part of the National Social Science Fund Project (No.11CYY021), In this paper, 30 English majors from Luoyang Normal University and Huabei water and electricity University were selected as the subjects. The collection of oral language materials of the subjects was completed by the members of the project group at the beginning of the first semester of the University, the beginning of the second term and the end of the semester, the end of the third term and the end of the fourth semester, and the completion of five tests. Some of the spoken language materials are transwritten and encoded, and the analysis of Cai Jinting (2015)'s comparison induction method is used. The results are as follows: (1) although the average correct rate of the expression of the subjects is more than 50%, the further analysis of the corpus shows that the subjects are frequency of verb form, verb selection, preposition, verb collocation, and article. The error rates are 31.1%, 10.8%, 7.8%, 4.2% and 2.4%., and the errors in verb forms, verb selection and preposition use are particularly prominent. Further analysis of the changes in the three types of errors in the five tests shows that these three types of errors do not linearly decrease with the improvement of the learners' English level. In addition, The analysis of the influence of different types of similarities between English and Chinese on the correctness of the expression of the learners' sports events shows that the consistency of English and Chinese promotes the correct expression of the learners' sports events to a certain extent; the inconsistency of English and Chinese vocabulary is apt to cause the typical errors in the verbs in the expression of the subject matter; and the word order, structure and the Chinese and Chinese word order The disagreement of the semi structure does not cause the typical error expression of the subjects; but the errors in the verb form are more prominent in all kinds of similar structures. (2) on the individual level, the comparison of the expression of the same subjects in different tests and the comparison of the expression of the events in the same test in the same test show that the mother tongue is moved. There are individual variations between the learners and the learners. At the group level, the influence of the similarity of different types of English and Chinese on the expression of the three types of sports events in English and Chinese shows a certain group trend: the consistency of the expression of the English and Chinese sports events promotes the occurrence of the positive migration; negative transfer is more inclined to appear in English and Chinese. The inconsistency of word order, structure and semi structure of English and Chinese does not lead to an increase in negative transfer. In addition, the transfer of mother tongue in the structure of different types of similarities between English and Chinese shows a nonlinear change trend. For example, in the expression of neutral sports events in English and Chinese, for example, the positive migration percentage was 35.7%, 63.6%, 45%, 25% and 69.2%. respectively in the five tests, respectively, indicating that the positive migration percentage of test 4 and test 5 was at the level of.10. There is a significant difference (Z=1.7851.645). However, there is no significant increase or decrease in the expression of interference negative transfer in English and Chinese movement events that are unanimous and inconsistencies in English and Chinese. There is no significant change. This study has a certain theoretical and practical significance. It further enriches the study of the effects of cross language similarity on the acquisition of sports events and the transfer of mother tongue. At the same time, it reveals the characteristics of the expression of Chinese English learners' sports events to a certain extent. The results show that the students are improving English and Chinese in the course of teaching. Attention should be paid to objective similarity in language event expression. Strengthening explicit teaching and practice will help promote the acquisition of Chinese English learners' motion events.
