《我們的孩子:危機中的美國夢》(第五章)翻譯實踐報告

【摘要】:本文是一篇翻譯項目報告。翻譯項目的原文選自《我們的孩子:危機中的美國夢》(Our Kids:The American Dream in Crisis)一書中的第五章“社區(qū)”(Community)。該書由哈佛肯尼迪政府學院彼得和伊莎貝爾·馬爾金(Peter and Isabel Malkin professor of Public Policy)公共政策講座教授羅伯特·D·普特南(Robert D.Putnam)所著,探討了美國社會貧富孩子之間日益增加的機會差距。本報告分為五章:第一章是翻譯項目介紹,包括項目的背景、目標、意義和結構。第二章是對原文文本的分析,包括作者介紹,原文語言學特征分析。根據(jù)卡特琳娜·賴斯的文本類型理論,原文為信息型文本,該類文本的翻譯以準確傳遞原文信息、確保譯文可讀性為宗旨。第三章為本翻譯報告的核心部分,即翻譯指導理論的選擇和應用,同時本章還指出了翻譯中的難點,并且列舉出了解決這些問題所運用的詞序調整法、詞類轉譯法、增譯法、分譯法以及正反法。鑒于原文文本為信息型文本,本翻譯報告以紐馬克(Peter Newmark)的交際翻譯為理論基礎,并結合自身翻譯實踐,探討了其在翻譯過程中指導作用。第四章為翻譯項目總結,包括翻譯過程中積累的經驗教訓及亟待解決的問題。最后,本報告希望可以總結翻譯方法,為以后信息型文本翻譯的研究提供參照。
[Abstract]:This article is a translation project report. The original text of the translation project is from our Child: the American Dream in crisis. Chapter 5 of our Kids:The American Dream in Crisis), "Community". By Robert D. Putnama, professor of public policy at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Peter and Isabel Malkin professor of Public Policy), the book explores the growing gap of opportunity between rich and poor children in American society. This report is divided into five chapters: the first chapter is the introduction of translation projects, including the background, objectives, significance and structure of the project. The second chapter is the analysis of the original text, including the author's introduction and the linguistic features of the original text. According to Catalina Rice's text type theory, the original text is informational text. The translation of this kind of text aims at accurately transmitting the original information and ensuring the readability of the translated text. The third chapter is the core part of this translation report, namely, the choice and application of translation guidance theory. At the same time, this chapter also points out the difficulties in translation, and enumerates the methods of word order adjustment, part of speech transference and incremental translation that are used to solve these problems. The translation method and the positive and negative method. In view of the fact that the original text is an informative text, this translation report is based on the communicative translation of Peter Newmark, and discusses its guiding role in the process of translation in the light of its own translation practice. Chapter four is a summary of translation projects, including lessons learned and problems to be solved. Finally, this report hopes to summarize the translation methods and provide a reference for the study of informative text translation.
