真實性文本對高中英語學習者閱讀動機和閱讀能力的影響

【摘要】:閱讀是高中生英語學習聽、說、讀、寫四項基本技能之一,然而高中生閱讀材料的攝入主要來源于課本或課堂。大多數(shù)學生只是完成規(guī)定的閱讀任務,很少有學生會在課堂之外主動閱讀。交際性教學法指出,閱讀的目的是為了培養(yǎng)學生的語言能力并幫助他們成為社會上熟練的閱讀者。為什么如今他們變成了被動的閱讀者了呢?許多教育學家和語言專家正努力探究原因并尋找解決問題的方法。本文也基于前人的研究,試圖探索真實性材料對改變這一現(xiàn)狀有何作用。本研究以中國高中英語學習者的閱讀為研究內(nèi)容,采取調(diào)查問卷和實驗研究的方法,調(diào)查了與非真實閱讀材料相比,真實性閱讀材料對高中生英語閱讀動機和閱讀能力提升的影響。本研究對象為華中科技大學附屬中學高二(6)班48名學生和高二(9)班49名學生。兩個班被隨機分成實驗班和控制班。實驗前兩班分別進行英語閱讀能力測試;實驗中,給實驗班分發(fā)從外文網(wǎng)站選取的原版英文文章;控制班分發(fā)由中國人編寫的常規(guī)英文閱讀材料。實驗進行兩個月。在這期間,所有學生接受同一個老師的英語教學(授課者為筆者在華中科技大學附屬中學的指導老師,郭老師),在實驗班里,教師在學生閱讀之前介紹相關背景知識和一些難詞難句的講解,在閱讀之后同學老師相互討論交流;在控制班里,教師只進行常規(guī)的閱讀后分析討論。最后,在實驗結(jié)束時在兩個班采用相同的閱讀動機調(diào)查問卷(由Allan Wigfield和John Guthrie設計編寫)并再次進行閱讀能力測試。所得數(shù)據(jù)經(jīng)SPSS21. 00和Microsoft Office, Excel 2010進行分析對比。通過數(shù)據(jù)的對比與分析,本研究發(fā)現(xiàn):在高中階段使用真實性閱讀文本能有效地激發(fā)學生的閱讀動機,提升學生的閱讀能力。教師在使用真實性文本的過程中,還應注意真實性材料的選擇,應選擇適合高中生閱讀的真實文本并在閱讀過程中提供相應的幫助,如背景知識的介紹和難詞難句的分析。在實驗之后,實驗班學生在英語閱讀動機和閱讀能力方面都比控制班的學生有較大提升。本次研究有針對性的探究了真實性閱讀材料對激發(fā)高中生英語閱讀興趣和提升閱讀能力方面的影響,有助于豐富外語學習研究在這方面的相關理論,彌補真實性材料在我國研究的不足,希望對高中英語教師的閱讀教學有一定的啟發(fā)作用。
[Abstract]:Reading is one of the four basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing for senior high school students. However, the intake of reading materials for senior high school students mainly comes from textbooks or classrooms. Most students only complete the prescribed reading tasks, and few students take the initiative to read outside the classroom. Communicative approach points out that the purpose of reading is to develop students' language skills and help them become skilled readers in society. Why are they now passive readers? Many educators and linguists are trying to figure out the causes and find solutions to the problem. Based on previous studies, this paper attempts to explore the role of authenticity in changing this situation. In this study, Chinese senior high school English learners' reading was investigated by questionnaire and experimental methods, and compared with non-real reading materials. The influence of authentic reading materials on English reading motivation and reading ability of high school students. The subjects of this study were 48 students in Grade 6) and 49 students in Grade 9 in affiliated Middle School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Huazhong University of Science and Technology). The two classes were randomly divided into experimental class and control class. In the first two classes of the experiment, the original English articles selected from the foreign language website were distributed to the experimental class, and the control class distributed the regular English reading materials compiled by the Chinese. The experiment lasted for two months. During this period, all the students received the same teacher's English teaching (the instructor was the teacher of the author's secondary school attached to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Mr. Guo, in the experimental class, The teacher introduces the related background knowledge and some difficult words and sentences before the students read. After reading, the students discuss and communicate with each other. In the control class, the teacher only carries on the regular post-reading analysis discussion. Finally, at the end of the experiment, the same reading motivation questionnaire (designed by Allan Wigfield and John Guthrie) was used in the two classes and the reading ability was tested again. The obtained data were obtained by SPSS 21. 00 is compared with Microsoft Office, Excel 2010. Through the comparison and analysis of the data, this study finds that the use of authentic reading texts in senior high school can effectively stimulate students' reading motivation and improve their reading ability. In the process of using authentic texts, teachers should also pay attention to the selection of authentic materials, and should choose authentic texts suitable for high school students to read and provide corresponding help in the process of reading, such as the introduction of background knowledge and the analysis of difficult words and sentences. After the experiment, the students in the experimental class improved their English reading motivation and reading ability more than the students in the control class. This study explores the impact of authentic reading materials on stimulating high school students' interest in English reading and improving their reading ability, which is helpful to enrich the relevant theories of foreign language learning research in this field. In order to make up for the deficiency of authentic materials in our country, it is hoped that it can enlighten the reading teaching of senior high school English teachers.
