【摘要】：《水滸傳》是中國古典小說名著,目前已被譯為多國文字,在世界范圍內(nèi)廣泛流傳,并產(chǎn)生了諸多研究成果。本論文從跨文化的角度,借助比較文學(xué)的相關(guān)理論,分析英語世界《水滸傳》的改寫與研究,總結(jié)英語世界《水滸傳》研究特色與方法,為我國《水滸傳》研究提供“他山之石”的借鑒；同時(shí)將英語世界《水滸傳》研究與國內(nèi)相關(guān)研究進(jìn)行比較,為中外《水滸傳》研究交流做一些基礎(chǔ)性工作。本論文除緒論和結(jié)語外,由五個(gè)部分組成：第一章首先梳理《水滸傳》英譯情況,并對(duì)其改寫本進(jìn)行分析。《水滸傳》節(jié)譯本《一個(gè)英雄的故事》和《強(qiáng)盜與士兵》按照西方“統(tǒng)一性”原則和西方流浪漢小說模式對(duì)原文進(jìn)行了內(nèi)容和形式上的改寫。這些改寫受到譯者西方意識(shí)形態(tài)和詩學(xué)的影響,主要目的是為了滿足西方讀者的期待視野。第二章主要探討英語世界《水滸傳》演化研究,包括小說成書、作者和版本三個(gè)部分。國內(nèi)胡適、魯迅和鄭振鐸等人的《水滸傳》演化研究成果成為英語世界《水滸傳》演化研究的立論基礎(chǔ),但由于缺乏實(shí)證材料,英語世界學(xué)者擱置了對(duì)作者和版本的考訂,保持存疑的態(tài)度。英語世界還以西方批評(píng)理論考查《水滸傳》的演化,產(chǎn)生了一些具有西方批評(píng)特色的研究成果,如“口頭-書面”交互傳遞的成書模式研究和以伊恩·瓦特小說理論考察《水滸傳》的版本生成研究。第三章以英語世界《水滸傳》人物研究為對(duì)象,分別從性別視野、道德評(píng)判和社會(huì)職業(yè)三個(gè)角度進(jìn)行分析。從性別視野看,英語世界對(duì)《水滸傳》的女性研究是其研究一大特色,并且影響深遠(yuǎn)。在人物道德方面,英語世界學(xué)者觀點(diǎn)各異：有學(xué)者認(rèn)為梁山好漢正義、高尚；有學(xué)者稱他們嗜殺、厭女；還有學(xué)者試圖調(diào)和這兩種不同的道德觀。在梁山好漢社會(huì)職業(yè)出身方面,英語世界學(xué)者不僅呈現(xiàn)了梁山好漢的具體職業(yè),還進(jìn)一步分析了梁山集團(tuán)的人員構(gòu)成和反抗性質(zhì)。第四章以英語世界《水滸傳》結(jié)構(gòu)研究為焦點(diǎn),主要從小說整體結(jié)構(gòu)和重復(fù)情節(jié)結(jié)構(gòu)兩個(gè)層面探討英語世界《水滸傳》結(jié)構(gòu)研究成果及其特點(diǎn)。英語世界《水滸傳》結(jié)構(gòu)研究帶有明顯的西方學(xué)術(shù)特質(zhì),無論是賽珍珠的“模仿生活”結(jié)構(gòu),還是“綴段式”結(jié)構(gòu)都是以西方敘事文學(xué)結(jié)構(gòu)為標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的考察結(jié)果。在反思以西方批評(píng)方法審視《水滸傳》合理性和適度性后,英語世界學(xué)者挖掘出《水滸傳》的多種整體結(jié)構(gòu)和重復(fù)情節(jié)結(jié)構(gòu)。第五章以英語世界《水滸傳》金圣嘆評(píng)點(diǎn)為研究對(duì)象,包括金圣嘆《讀‘第五才子書’法》的英譯和闡釋、金圣嘆評(píng)點(diǎn)的功能與效果以及金圣嘆評(píng)點(diǎn)與西方小說批評(píng)理論三個(gè)方面。英語世界學(xué)者以金圣嘆的《水滸傳》評(píng)點(diǎn)為基點(diǎn),上溯源流,下探影響,揭示了中國小說評(píng)點(diǎn)的歷史脈絡(luò),從一定程度上建構(gòu)了中國小說批評(píng)理論,重建了中國文論話語,實(shí)現(xiàn)了中西詩學(xué)的對(duì)話和交流。結(jié)語部分主要綜合考查《水滸傳》在英語世界的理論視野及方法、誤讀、對(duì)中國國內(nèi)的影響和本論文需繼續(xù)研究的方向。英語世界《水滸傳》研究采用西方批評(píng)理論,同時(shí)又在不斷反思和批判這種批評(píng)方法和之前研究成果的過程中,建構(gòu)了自己的批評(píng)脈絡(luò),取得諸多研究成果。這些研究成果中也有對(duì)《水滸傳》的誤讀,如套用西方小說理論指責(zé)《水滸傳》人物心理描寫缺乏、批判其綴段式結(jié)構(gòu)以及夏志清對(duì)《水滸傳》精神文化的批判。由于本論文主要以英語世界《水滸傳》改寫、演化、人物、結(jié)構(gòu)和評(píng)點(diǎn)五個(gè)方面為研究對(duì)象,有一些研究成果未納入本論文,只能留待日后展開研究。英語世界《水滸傳》研究成果可以為國內(nèi)《水滸傳》研究提供一些新的視角,同時(shí)也可作為國內(nèi)《水滸傳》研究的參照對(duì)象,激發(fā)中西思想碰撞的學(xué)術(shù)討論。《水滸傳》蘊(yùn)含著巨大文化力量,對(duì)英語世界《水滸傳》研究的梳理和分析不僅有利于我們?cè)谌蚧尘跋吕斫膺@部小說的文化內(nèi)涵,而且對(duì)中國文化走向世界也有重要的借鑒意義。
