Abstract: Grouting is a technology widely applied into the reinforcement and water shutoff of underground engineering which includes two major aspects of grouting technique and grouting material. The latter is one vital link of the former and directly affects the construction cost and determines the engineering success. Greater grouting scope requires smaller dimensions of solution molecular or solid particle, which is beneficial to the grouting effect. With the advancement of nanotechnology, the development of nanometer grouting materials is feasible, and also claimed to be a great breakthrough for the grouting technique.Key words: grouting; nanometer materials; grout
