【摘要】：19世紀(jì)末20世紀(jì)初,美國迎來了又一個移民潮,大量移民涌向美國大城市。如何把大量的移民變成真正的美國人,特別是如何把移民孩子變成美國人,成為當(dāng)時美國城市公立學(xué)校的重要任務(wù),因此,美國城市公立學(xué)校通過改革,開設(shè)語言班級、教授公民知識等措施在不同的時期扮演了移民孩子美國化的"熔爐"角色。對于城市公立學(xué)校"移民熔爐"角色,不同的移民群體和不同的移民在成為教育者后的態(tài)度和看法是不相同的,他們中有人反對有人贊成,有人認(rèn)為這是移民成功的機(jī)會和途徑,有人認(rèn)為是對他們文化的威脅。
[Abstract]:In the late 19th century and early 20 th century, the United States welcomed another wave of immigrants, a large number of immigrants flocked to large American cities. How to turn a large number of immigrants into real Americans, especially how to turn immigrant children into Americans, became an important task for American urban public schools at that time. The teaching of citizenship and other measures played the role of melting pot of immigrant children in different periods. With regard to the role of urban public schools in the "melting pot" of immigration, different immigrant groups and different immigrants have different attitudes and views when they become educators, and some of them oppose the idea that some of them agree. Some see it as an opportunity and a way to succeed, others as a threat to their culture.
