對(duì)喬治·艾略特《丹尼爾·德隆達(dá)》的女性主義解讀

《丹尼爾·德隆達(dá)》是19世紀(jì)英國(guó)女作家喬治·艾略特的最后一部小說,秉承了艾略特以往的作品中對(duì)于維多利亞時(shí)代女性生存狀況的關(guān)注,也反映了艾略特在女性問題上的獨(dú)特觀點(diǎn)。本文試從女性主義的角度對(duì)《丹尼爾·德隆達(dá)》進(jìn)行解讀和剖析,分析小說中體現(xiàn)的性別角色,兩性沖突以及女性對(duì)父權(quán)制的反抗。在小說中,艾略特通過對(duì)女性角色的描寫,闡述了她對(duì)于維多利亞時(shí)代性別角色的理解——維多利亞時(shí)代的女性被束縛于男性定義的傳統(tǒng)模式中,被視為“弱者”,雖然小說中的女性角色從屬于不同的社會(huì)階級(jí)和文化背景,但是她們?cè)谀行越y(tǒng)治的社會(huì)中的遭遇卻是相似的。本文解讀了艾略特對(duì)于性別角色的理解,認(rèn)為與性別相關(guān)的行為是由父權(quán)社會(huì)根據(jù)生物學(xué)范疇內(nèi)的性別進(jìn)行武斷的定義,而刻板傳統(tǒng)的性別角色定義的目的就是保證社會(huì)對(duì)于女性的控制,因?yàn)閺耐陼r(shí)代起,女性就開始接受父權(quán)制度下的性別教育,順從性別分工,即男性擁有公共權(quán)力,而女性被排除在社會(huì)活動(dòng)之外,她們唯一的作用就是做順從于男性的弱勢(shì)群體,她們應(yīng)該是“家中的天使”,即自我犧牲,被動(dòng)順從,軟弱無力,單純無知。更為重要的是,她們要無條件地順從于她們的丈夫或是其他男性的控制。小說女主人公關(guān)德琳就是最好...
