索爾·貝婁與杰姆·大衛(wèi)·塞林格被譽為二戰(zhàn)后美國文壇史上最偉大的猶太作家。《奧吉瑪歷險記》與《麥田里的守望者》這兩部美國當代文學史上的“現(xiàn)代經(jīng)典”是他們以流浪漢小說為主要題材的代表作,主要描寫兩個猶太青少年在多元化的美國社會中迷失自我,在經(jīng)歷磨難后尋找自我與真愛的流浪故事。本文作者旨在對兩部小說的主人公愛與身份的求索進行詳細的比較研究,其主要目的在于加深對身份的理解,并指導美國移民如何在一個多元化社會中保持獨力的自我。本文由五章組成：第一章介紹了貝婁與塞林格的生活經(jīng)歷以及其代表作。第二章作者從邊緣人、多元文化兩方面闡述了奧吉與霍頓的身份困惑以及他們各自追尋身份的歷程。第三章從逃避、擺脫有形和無形的控制、愛的呼喚以及愛的超越等方面探索了奧吉與霍頓對愛的找尋。第四章作者通過奧吉與霍頓的流浪生活對美國社會各種丑惡現(xiàn)象進行了無情的揭露、諷刺和批判。
