桑德拉·希斯內羅絲的成名作《芒果街上的小屋》挖掘了墨西哥裔移民在美國的生存狀態(tài),呈現(xiàn)出美國墨西哥裔移民對身份的追尋。遭遇文化身份錯位的“奇哥娜”（美國墨西哥裔女性的總稱）對自身身份感到困惑,面對兩種文化,不知如何定位自己——既非墨西哥人又非美國人,淪為父權壓迫與民族歧視下的雙重邊緣人,既無力反抗父權社會的壓制,又不能擺脫種族歧視與文化排斥的傷害。論文通過運用文化批評理論分析“奇哥娜”女性在追尋身份過程中的困境,探討族裔文化與主流文化的分離與滲透,少數(shù)族裔與白人主流的排斥與融合,“奇哥娜”的雙重邊緣地位以及一些“奇哥娜”社會地位的提高。本文以女主人公埃斯佩浪莎為主線,探討埃斯佩浪莎成功走出芒果街,被主流社會認同,實現(xiàn)自我價值的原因,揭露主流社會與少數(shù)族裔之間的沖突與矛盾,分析“奇哥娜”所遭遇的自我身份構建與文化身份問題,力圖找到在美國這個種族問題嚴重,民族眾多的社會中面對強勢文化沖擊的少數(shù)族裔女性追尋身份,實現(xiàn)文化認同的方法與途徑。論文通過分析指出遭遇身份危機的“奇哥娜”既要融入主流社會,與白人共同進步,又要心系本民族傳統(tǒng),保持自己的獨立性與民族特性的原因與出路。一方面,少數(shù)族裔應通過適...
