顛覆與重建:黃哲倫劇作《蝴蝶君》的解構(gòu)主義解讀

【摘要】:黃哲倫(David Henry Hwang)被認(rèn)為是二十世紀(jì)美國(guó)最知名的華裔劇作家之一,也是目前在好萊塢和百老匯非;钴S的少數(shù)族裔劇作家之一。生長(zhǎng)在洛杉磯移民家庭的黃哲倫經(jīng)歷了多重文化的影響。他最知名的劇作《蝴蝶君》于1988年在百老匯上映,而后在全世界引起廣泛的好評(píng)并獲得了包括外評(píng)論界最佳戲劇獎(jiǎng)和托尼獎(jiǎng)最佳戲劇獎(jiǎng)在內(nèi)的一系列大獎(jiǎng)。在劇中,黃哲倫重新解讀了普契尼的經(jīng)典歌劇《蝴蝶夫人》并探討了在當(dāng)今社會(huì)人們廣為關(guān)注的性別歧視,種族偏見(jiàn)以及西方霸權(quán)問(wèn)題。 本文是從雅克·德里達(dá)的解構(gòu)主義角度對(duì)《蝴蝶君》進(jìn)行解讀。法國(guó)解構(gòu)主義大師雅克·德里達(dá)認(rèn)為,西方思想常常建立在二元對(duì)立的基礎(chǔ)之上,二元對(duì)立中的一方總是處于統(tǒng)治和優(yōu)先地位,而另一方則永遠(yuǎn)被排斥在邊緣。本文試圖探討黃哲倫對(duì)《蝴蝶君》中男人/女人,白人/少數(shù)族裔,西方/東方三組二元對(duì)立的解構(gòu),并重塑男性與女性,白人和少數(shù)族裔以及西方和東方之間的關(guān)系。 本論文除引言和結(jié)論外共分為三章。引言部分首先簡(jiǎn)要介紹作家,主要?jiǎng)?chuàng)作經(jīng)歷,國(guó)內(nèi)外已有的關(guān)于黃哲倫的相關(guān)研究以及二元對(duì)立和解構(gòu)主義的相關(guān)理論,最后簡(jiǎn)要陳述本文的寫(xiě)作動(dòng)機(jī)和意義。第一章分析《蝴蝶君》的現(xiàn)實(shí)語(yǔ)境以及與《蝴蝶夫人》的互文性!逗啡〔挠诂F(xiàn)實(shí)的真實(shí)事件,后作者在現(xiàn)實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)上加以改編,并通過(guò)對(duì)它與《蝴蝶夫人》之間的相似性戲仿了《蝴蝶夫人》的人物,情節(jié)等,為其解構(gòu)奠定基礎(chǔ)。第二章探討了《蝴蝶君》中的性別問(wèn)題。在男人/女人的二元對(duì)立中,男性總是處于統(tǒng)治地位,代表著理性,智慧,強(qiáng)大,而女性則處于被統(tǒng)治的地位,代表著感性,藝術(shù),柔弱!逗分凶詈笪鞣侥腥思永敒闁|方女人宋麗玲自殺的結(jié)局使男女主人公兩者話語(yǔ)權(quán)顛倒,成功解構(gòu)了男性與女性之間的二元對(duì)立。第三章分析后殖民主義時(shí)期東西方的關(guān)系。在帝國(guó)主義的進(jìn)程中,種族歧視和偏見(jiàn)是西方對(duì)東方殖民統(tǒng)治的理由和手段之一。占優(yōu)勢(shì)地位的西方白人最后以自殺結(jié)束自己的生命,,象征著白人對(duì)少數(shù)族裔間的統(tǒng)治瞬間瓦解,也標(biāo)志著西方和東方二元對(duì)立的解構(gòu)。結(jié)論部分梳理了本論文的研究過(guò)程,強(qiáng)調(diào)了《蝴蝶君》這部作品的現(xiàn)實(shí)意義,同時(shí)彰顯了劇作家黃哲倫呼吁讀者在新的時(shí)代背景下重新審視和解讀兩性關(guān)系、種族關(guān)系和民族關(guān)系的努力。
[Abstract]:David Henry Hwang is considered one of the most famous Chinese playwrights in the United States in the 20th century and one of the ethnic minority playwrights who are currently active in Hollywood and Broadway.Growing up in Los Angeles immigrant families, Hwang experienced multiple cultural influences.His best-known play, the Butterfly, was released on Broadway in 1988, and has since been widely acclaimed around the world and won a series of awards, including the Best Drama Award for external critics and the Tony Award for Best Drama.In the play, Hwang reinterprets Puccini's classic opera, Lady Butterfly, and explores the issues of sexism, racial prejudice and Western hegemony that are widely concerned in today's society.This paper interprets the Butterfly from Jacques Derrida's deconstruction.Jacques Derrida, a French deconstruction master, believes that Western thought is often based on dualism, in which one side is always dominant and priority, while the other is always marginalized.This paper attempts to probe into the deconstruction of the dualistic opposition of man / woman, white / minority, western / eastern, and remodel the relationship between male and female, white and minority, as well as between the west and the east in Lord Butterfly.This thesis is divided into three chapters except introduction and conclusion.The introduction first briefly introduces the writer, the main creative experience, the existing domestic and foreign related research on Huang Zhelun, as well as the dual opposition and deconstruction theory, and finally briefly describes the writing motivation and significance of this paper.The first chapter analyzes the realistic context and intertextuality with Lady Butterfly.Through the similarity between it and Lady Butterfly, the author simulates the characters and plots of Lady Butterfly, and lays the foundation for its deconstruction.The second chapter discusses the gender problem in the Butterfly King.In the dualistic opposition between men and women, men are always in the dominant position, representing reason, wisdom, and strength, while women are in the position of being ruled, representing sensibility, art,In Butterfly King, the final result of the suicide of the western man Galima for the Oriental woman Song Liling makes the protagonists and heroines have the right to speak upside down, successfully deconstructing the dualistic opposition between men and women.The third chapter analyzes the relationship between East and West in the postcolonial period.In the process of imperialism, racial discrimination and prejudice is one of the reasons and means of western colonial domination over the East.The dominant Western white man ended his life by suicide, symbolizing the disintegration of white domination over minorities and the deconstruction of the dualistic opposition between the West and the East.The conclusion part combs the research process of this thesis, emphasizes the practical significance of the work, and at the same time highlights the playwright Huang Zhelun's appeal to readers to re-examine and interpret the relationship between the two sexes in the new era background.The efforts of race and ethnic relations.
