雙語詞典在兩種不同文化和語言之間架起了橋梁,也是外語學(xué)習(xí)的重要工具。雙語詞典的編纂過程在很大程度上就是一種翻譯過程。對(duì)于編纂一部英漢雙語學(xué)習(xí)型詞典來說,其中主要的一項(xiàng)任務(wù)就是在漢語中找到詞目詞以及其例證的對(duì)等語。而提供對(duì)等語,歸根結(jié)底,是翻譯層面上的問題。本研究是雙語詞典學(xué)和翻譯學(xué)的交叉研究,討論的焦點(diǎn)是雙語詞典學(xué)領(lǐng)域的翻譯問題,尤其是英漢雙語學(xué)習(xí)型詞典中的例證漢譯問題。對(duì)一部詞典來說,釋義是核心,例證是釋義的延續(xù),是對(duì)核心所作的支持和補(bǔ)充。詞典的評(píng)論者常常會(huì)這樣說：“例證之于詞典,猶如血肉之于骨架�！边@足以說明例證在詞典中的地位。因?yàn)?釋義和例證共同構(gòu)成了詞典的主體和靈魂。因此,例證的選取和翻譯備受關(guān)注。然而,相關(guān)學(xué)術(shù)界對(duì)例證翻譯一直缺乏科學(xué)與系統(tǒng)的研究。而且,一些傳統(tǒng)經(jīng)驗(yàn)式觀點(diǎn),如“例證翻譯類似于,甚至與普通文學(xué)翻譯無大的區(qū)別”。這種認(rèn)識(shí)不但缺乏理論理據(jù),而且具有誤導(dǎo)作用。因此,本研究對(duì)例證翻譯與普通文學(xué)翻譯作了理論上的界定與區(qū)分。例證翻譯在翻譯背景,翻譯單位,翻譯語用特征,翻譯指稱性,表達(dá)手段,表達(dá)內(nèi)容,翻譯美學(xué)等方面不同于普通文學(xué)翻譯。此外,例證翻譯趨向語義靜態(tài)功能對(duì)能,強(qiáng)調(diào)翻...
